Issue with Music Going Through Headset...

I have recently obtained a new Plantronics .Audio 345 Behind-the-Head Stereo Headset, which comes with an audio jack, and a microphone jack. (Not USB)
What I normally do is go into my audio settings, set the sound playback to the monitor ("Realtek HD Audio rear output"), and the voice playback to the "line in/mic in" option. But my other microphone headset used USB...
I don't know how to get the music to go through the monitor and the voices to go through this headset. I have tried, but there seems to be no detected "Line In/Mic In" option - everything is going through the headset... It's driving me nuts!

Wires broken plantronics .audio 628

Strip the wires back further. There make be more broken wires. Put all of the colors together and include the bare copper wire. That wire is the ground and there will be poor performance or no performance if the headset is not wired properly.

How do I listen to music through the bluetooth

Listen to music with the Plantronics Explorer 220:

Unfortunately the Explorer 220 was not designed for music, it does not have the technology built in to stream audio. Headsets must have the Bluetooth A2DP profile and technology to be able to stream music. Like the Plantronics Voyager Pro+ and BackBeat models. Here are the links for these below.

Recently my headset does not turn on. I thought perhaps it needed to be charged, but even when plugged in none of the lights come on. After charging over night, it still did not turn on. It worked fine...

Have you seen this FIXYA Link?
Plantronics audio 995H wireless headset not charging when plugged into...

Or could be your tiny "POWER" button-switch has gone bad"? Or perhaps a actual battery 'hard failure'?

Here is part of the text:
The 603443 next to its replaced counterpart. The new battery is a 850 mAh lithium polymer battery while the original is a 500 mAh lithium ion. Sweet!

See the Link about Battery Replacement...

While you are in there try a Q-Tip with a tiny-tiny dab of contact cleaner sprayed on the Q-Tip... now try to apply some cleaner right to the Power Switch CONTACTS.

*** BE SURE TO USE A CONTACT CLEANER THAT IS "PLASTIC SAFE"!*** and with silicone is better.

Can i connect my Plantronics Discovery 925 with my ipod touch? and how if i can

Your headset is a monaural device, and, as such, bears bluetooth profiles HSP (HeadSet Profile) and HFP (HandsFree Profile) only, which are suitable solely for handling phone calls. The iPod Touch is not a phone, though, for what it must lack those profiles. It does have A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile), though, which are meant for stereo music streams. In order to have a bluetooth headset paired with your iPod, you better purchase a stereo pair out there. There are lots of brands and models available.

You know, for some platforms there are some applications which are able to route all audio sources to a monaural bluetooth headset. I don't know if there are any of such softwares to be picked up from Apple's app market. You could search for it, if you want, but be warned that such arrangements use to result in pretty poor sound quality.

Please, let me know if I can help you any further.

Regards,
Carlos

Can one get the plantronics audio 995 USB headset (with microphone) to work with the PS3? The headset uses 2.4GHz, not bluetooth, so it's not a bluetooth pairing issue.

I believe it should work...

You may want to review this guide for connecting a bluetooth headset to a PS3:

Music

The Plantronics Explorer 330 doesn't have the A2DP technology (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) for streaming music, you need to look for a headset that has the A2DP Bluetooth profile built in like the new Plantronics M50. The Plantronics M50 is a new model which is now available and is in the $47 range.

Below is a link to the M50.
