At the main base unit, unplug the power in line for a minute. That fixed mine. It has happened twice...don't know why.

Unplugging didn't work for me. I also de-authorized all phones (2) and reset them. Still doesn't work.

It did work for me. I unplugged both power and phone line.

OK, Bob W. you are brilliant! “ Unplug it, then plug it back in”. I would have never thought of that. D’uh. Thank you very much. Working fine now.

Phone won't hang up, stays on the line even after hitting 'OFF' button

We recommend you test the main base unit with a different telephone cord on a different telephone jack.

I purchased a panasonic digital cordless answering system. When I am talking on the phone and a call is coming in it does not go into my message box. the incoming call just continues to ring. I can hear...

You don't mean the "message box" on your answering system do you? You only get one conversation at a time. If you're talking to someone, how can the other conversation get to the mailbox?

Most people get central office based voice mail. Now they get a call waiting signal with caller id and if they ignore it, it's answered by the CO voice mail system.

Can i get a ring w/o the voice id on my answering machine?

You can have no message, standard outgoing message, or your own recorded message, as you choose. You need to use the function to change the OGM (out going message). Instructions are in the manual.

If you need detailed instuctions I will pleased to supply them.

I have a panasonic cordless phone, model kx-tga820. for some reason both handsets now say that it is busy when i push the talk button. Our other phones are ok. Why?

Hi,

If you get busy tone in your Panasonic KX-TGA820 cordless phone, it may be due to any one of the following reasons:

1)The called handset is in use.

2)The handset you are calling is too far from the base unit.
Check whether the base unit is not so far from the handset

3)There is no handset registered to the base unit matching the extension number you entered.
Try to re-register the handset to the base unit again, To know details regarding registering and re-registering, please refer page 38 of the manual, which you can download from the link given below

4)Other units are in use and the system is busy. Try again later.
Try to check whether the other units are not using your base unit

You can download manual for your phone from the following link for reference

Can't phone out.

Maybe one of your phones (if you have more than one in the house) is on talk mode. If that's the case you might not be able to use the other phones because that one phone is "Busy"

Message problem

In your case there is no problem regarding your cordless phone. The problem might be in your network only. So please contact your network officer immediately.

A busy signal

Hi Kevin,

Sorry for being off line so long. If you have not fixed the problem already, I would try de-registering the handset 3 (from both the base and handset), then re-register it, it should re-register as HS 3, unless 1 and 2 are vacant. If that does not do it, de-register just the handset (not at the base), then re-register it to the base, it will grab the next sequencial intercom number. If it is still failing, then the handset is most likely defective. As a last resort, you can try initializing the handset and the base. Let me know how it goes. CG
