I have an nokia E71 phone. All of a sudden when i make a call the other person can not hear me. I can not hear the dial tone either. However i can rec calls and hear just fine.

Hello Dev If the ringer of your phone works sometimes,there might be some sort-circuit with the ringer and the connector.....So, to fix this the best way to get rid from this problem is to contact mobile repairing shop because an ordinary person could not do this,it can damage easily when a non-expert technician do this thing.Good luck
Contact mobile repairing shop .They will change the Ringer (Speaker) if it is found damages or if not they check it out all the sound related components.good luck
After you call the first person press the shift button or green phone button on your phone. You will hear a dial tone to dial the other persons number.After you dial the number press the shift or green phone button again to bring you back to the first person you called. You should still hear the phone dialing the other person and when they answer you will have a 3 way call.
This is probably because dial tones and ringing tones are part of an archaic system. Your cell phone still makes these noises as a courtesy, and you hear the dial tones/ringing tones when you make regular calls because your phone is communicating with the standard phone system.
