The display stopped working on my Bose Lifestyle 12 Home Theater system.Any Ideas on how to fix this???

I did have encounter the same problem!!!! what i did was have the whole capacitor replace ! I didn't bother to have them check beside its will cost you less than $10 this is how a capacitor will look like http://www.allproducts.com/manufacture97/qiyu/product1.jpg . check the ( + )positive ( - )nagative by marking either one on the PCB board before you proceed! very important! good luck

I've got the same problem. My Bose Lifestyle 12 is working, but the display will not light up. If I recall correctly, this happened many years ago and it cost around $100 to fix. Gerry, did you try that capacitor replacement?

I found this link on YouTube, replaced the capacitor (33uf 25V) he pointed to and fixed my problem.

A good antenna connection and orientation and the presence of sufficiently strong stations might stop it. Look in the manual which is available at Bose.com

Bose Lifestyle 12 Music Center DISPLAY display light number its not working anymore
I have had problems similar to this on many devices and it is usually a dud LED (light). You can technically de-solder the current LED and replace it but it's not a job for anybody without very good soldering skills.

Check to see if your system is still in warranty as this should be covered. Any electronics repair shop should be able to fix this for you.

No power
Sounds like the internal 1.6 amp fuse has blown. Its quit easy to change, check the replies I've sent to get access to the unit and the internal fuse.

Bose surround sound system cuts off
Hi when you turn on check all your speakers work check connections make sure the wire has no stray strands touching the fault could be in the sub unit this is possible / or your speakers one or more could have gone short circuit due to exessive volume thats if you play loud. Had a party lately .Just joking .Regards kirk

check the voltage setting on the power supply that connects the power cord to the media center. Mine was set to 230V. Changed it to 115V and the video starting working.

Bose lifestyle 12 music center display inop
My display has not been working for years. Replaced c17 cap wich was 33uF 63 volts on lower pcb board( only one on system) . Old cap was good so this was not the problem. Replaced c16 wich was 100uF 25 volts with a 100uF 63volts. Display works, old cap read low. Both c17, and c16 are located on the lower left hand corner of the larger pcb looking from the front of the unit. Hope this helps.
