Can not get Microsoft 5000 wireless mouse to Pan in AutoCAd 09

Do you use the "hold middle click" way of panning? If so, check that in the Windows Ctrl Panel under Mouse, that the scroll wheel is set for middle click. Why this is not default on all new mice I do not know!

Cannot use centerscroll wheel to click and pan

Your scroll mouse may not have a button built into the wheel.

Do try to push down on the wheel, though. Most (quality) modern mice have a button built in below the wheel that just takes a little extra pressure to use.

AutoCad R14 to Vista - bab-Mem-Pointer error message

You are still using AutoCAD R14? If you are that might be the problem. If you are running Vista, then AutoCAD R14 might be too old of a version to run. You will probably need to upgrade to a newer version of AutoCAD. I know this isn't a solution, but I am just trying to look at it from a different point of view. You can also go to autodesk.com and join their discussion groups. It is free and you can post questions. You usually get a fast response with an answer that really helps. I will do a little more research and add more when I get a chance. Good luck and I hope that I helped.

32 bit program to 64 bit opperating system

From the Autocad webiste:
System Requirements AutoCAD® Civil and AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2009 Recommended System Requirements Recommended configuration (excluding server components used with project management capabilities):
  • Intel® Pentium® 4 (3 GHz or higher); AMD Athlon™; multiple processors supported, dual-core supported
  • 32-bit only: Microsoft® Windows Vista® Ultimate/Business/Enterprise, Microsoft® Windows XP (SP2)
Note: Windows XP 64 and Windows Vista 64 are supported in 32-bit compatibility mode only.

Here's how you should be able to run it in compatibility mode:
1. Right click on the Autocad Icon in your start menu
2. click on Properties
3. click on the Compatibility tab at the top
4. check the box next to Compatibility Mode and select Vista 32 bit if it is given as an option.

I don't have Vista here, but that is how it works in XP and I did do a search and it appears to be the same in Vista.

I cannot pan with the mouse in Autocad or Revit.

Go to START > CONTROL PANEL > MOUSE ..... Here you will find the Logitech settings. On the BUTTONS tab, you will see a diagram that numbers the buttons on the mouse as well as a table that shows what each button is assigned to. In this table, double click the number assigned to the mouse wheel (usually button 3) and reassign the wheel to MIDDLE BUTTON. This should restore your Autocad pans.
