Look closley at the cd drive and you will notice a small hole (normally on the left side) on the cd drive unit.
Take a paper clip and straighten it out and push the end of the straightened paper clip into that hole, it will release the cd tray and you will be able to remove the cd.

If you just want to get it open to retreive a disk, you can pop it open with a straightened out paper clip.
Look closely at the face of the DvD player. You should see a small hole usually off to one side slightly. Push the straight paper clip into the hole, you may have to push firmly.
This is the emergency open method. It will allow you to retrieve a stuck disk. It will not fix a broken player.
It's likely you may need to replace the device.
The DVD drive's tray might be just stuck. Try this: 1. While the laptop is switched off, straighten a paper clip. 2. Insert the straightened paper clip into the small hole in the DVD drive's door. 3. Gently press towards the inside till the paper clip pushes the handle which releases the drive's door. You will hear a click & the door will eject.
Notice that this has to be done while the laptop is switched off, or you might damage the DVD drive.

Power down the laptop and restart it. As soon as it restarts press the open button on the dvd drive and it will open. You may have to try a few times but it will work.
