Hey my psp is the older version say around 2-3 years old. Does that mean the newer version simline would have this. I rung sony and hey said you can it would cost a bit to get them to fix this. they said that the psp would have come up with a note saying please update software. How would a 5year old know how or what that means. So he has gone ahead and kepted going which caused this problem. why don't they inorm you of these things a? Looks like i will need o get them to fix it or do you know other places can do this like gaming shops maybe?

you can do this yourself but you need someone who has a psp that is on custom firmware to be able to make you the pandora battery.

  • Anonymous Jan 20, 2008

custom firmware is firmware that has been moded by other people from the original firmware made by sony. to get custom firmware you need to be on the offical sony fimware 1.50 and then download and install 3.80M33 to get you custom firmware. pandora battery is used to unbrick your psp but to make it you need to have custom firmware as it will only work on it.

i also got the same psp. you dont need to get sony to fix it or any games shop as they would probably do the same thing but charging you for some thing that you can just get off the net.

My psp(psp e1000) lags at the menu screen and after that it turns off can anyone help me?

Hi,

please switch games and check if the issue persists. If so, please temporarily remove your controllers and check again. If the machine has been running for more than 4 hours, please put it in a cool place to keep it from overheating and don't use it for at least 1.5 hours before trying again. Otherwise, please use the playstation troubleshooter found on their website.

Thank you.

PSP won't turn on

You can try a hard reset. Do this hold the power switch in the upward position for over 10 seconds. This will cause the machine to reboot. Leave it alone for a few minutes then try switching it back on. You may have to flick the switch on twice to start her up again. If it still has a hard time try changing the battery for the one in your sons machine. MAKE SURE that all apps etc are closed on the PSP first and do the hard reset BEFORE you remove the battery on BOTH machines. Ensure PSP is OFF before removing battery. It is possible the battery has been overcharged or just given up. If the console operates with the other battery you know you need get a fresh one. Consider getting a high power one for extended life. Let us know how you get on. May have more info for you.

Green light but nothing comes on

It seems that inside your PSP the LCD Screen Connection cable (The broad One) which is connected to the motherboard is being loose contact so if you can open the PSP try it by re-fixing the cable again otherwise you better go for a technician who will do the same job for you.

I have a sony 2001 PSP, and I've had it for less than a month and just recently I tried to use it, when i attempt to turn it on I press the power button and the green light (which shows that the PSP is on)...

For how long have you NOT been using your PSP? and did anything happen before you even tried using it AGAIN? Do you have others in your area who has a PSP? if nothing happened to your psp before you tried using it again e.g.accidentally fell or something like that, then just try to use a different WORKING psp battery...if it didn't work, then prolly your PSP went brick and the only solution for that is a pandora kit...

Power problems

Hi Gohan102,

Open the battery compartment, and remove the battery.  Look at the bottom inside corner for a little square sticker with has marks on it. is it dark or light,  If it is dark, your PSP has come in contact with moisture. I suspect that your PSP has gotten wet or damp.  If the sticker is dark, you need to keep your battery out for about 2 days, and keep the UMD door open and the whole PSP kept in a dry environment.  Try it after 2 days of drying to see if it is recovered. Good luck Gohan....
