Question about Philips 32PT6441/37 32" TV

1 Answer

TV making ticking sound when turned on

When I turn the TV on the inside ticks and I get no screen. The ticking lasts for about 10 seconds. The led light on the front of the tv blinks 5 times and then pauses on the led and then repeats 5 times again. I know that is an error troubleshooting code but don't know what it stands for. Any idea what the problem may be? I already swapped out the fuse which was bad, but obviously is not the cause of the ticking.

When I turn the set on, the power light comes on but all I get are a series of four clicks, then nothing. Any suggestions? Thanks

My TV has just started doing the same thing as your's, screen went blank then fast ticking sound. The ticking stops after several times, TV seems to briefly turn to standby then back again, then ticking returns and the whole process goes round again. TV is not under warranty anymore, would appreciate any help so I can resolve this myself.

We have a Phillips flat screen as well. I have no picture nor sound. The TV is dead. However, similarly to the others mentioned. The little solid green light has turned to a blinking red light of which flashes 7 times then pauses to repleat itself contiuously afterwards... Any suggestions?

Most times I hear that ticking its the high voltage failure ...most likely a shorted HOT fallowed by flyback. the ticking is your shut-down engaged.

I have a Sharp 70" (LC-70LE632U) LED TV. When you turn it on, the front led is on, but no screen. After a few seconds, the front led starts 5 short and 2 longer blink and continue this way constantly.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices

Blinking codes details of many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Counting of number of blinks to Philips TVs is entirely different to that of other brand TVs. It is not a direct count procedure. The site have details about how to count the number of LED blinks [Fault Codes] to Philips brand TVs are given; along with details of the faulty circuit location

17" flatron crt monitor only green led blinking and tick tick sound .No display

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

Hi there stuibel,
is there any ticking sound that's coming from the inside? if there is than could be the relay (posistor)
that's causing your tv to shut down. need to replace that.

My PT-50LC13's LAMP and TEMP light blinks 4 times and POWER light blinks 8 times continuously with 2 second intervals. I replace TY-LA1000 and FBL12G12L2CS Fan, but didn't fix the problem. Can anyone tell...

Listen carefully to the TV after the relays click. If there is a mechanical ticking or snapping noise after power On, replace the lamp because HV is present (causing the ticking). If there is no ticking sound, replace the ballast. You can confirm this by using the LED blinking pattern to localize the problem. refer to Service Manual or technical guide on the panasonic website for more help diagnosing LED patterns

Hi..I own a sony bravia 40 inch LED color tv model number kdl-40ex600...i've only had it for about 5 months now and it was working fine..up until I was watching a movie and the picture went completely out....

one of the power boards inside the tv has gone, which is why its blinking 5 times, which one it is i cant tell without using a multimeter on the tv. IF its only 5 months old you should ring up who you got it from and get them to fix it, as it will cost quite a bit to repair.

Tv won't turn on

Most likly it is a problem in the power supply regulator circuit. pretty common for Toshiba TV sets. If you know about TV serviceing, first thing to replace would be the regulator IC as that is the problem 80% of the time. if that does not help then you will need a schematic to trace out the regulator circuit. Good Luck PS please dont forget to rate this thread.
