Yes, there are two 'pads' on the circuit board of the movement. Short them together with metal tweezers and check the display. Try a couple times to make sure you actually shorted them. Make sure the battery isn't inserted upside down. Make sure the battery clamp and gaskets are installed properly.

Timex Expedition Indiglo WR 50M. How do I remove the back panel to replace the battery please

Question edited for clarity.

The watch is waterproof so it has a screw back with a gasket, or a VERY tight press back with gasket. You need a special tool to remove it without damaging it and you need the skill to replace it without cross-threading it. With press on backs, there is a tool to remove and another to press the back on squarely without smashing the glass face.

All explained in this tip I wrote.

How do I turn off the alarm on my timex expedition model wr 50m (analog)? Also, I have searched and searched the web and am unable to locate a manual to download to assist me with other features on this...

I hope you find this tip helpful! Turning off alarm on wr 50m sports watch (4 buttons)
Look at your watch to see if the alarm (shaped like a bell) and hour chime (shaped like a pacman) are displayed.

If Both are displayed:
  1. Hold down the Adjust button and press the start/stop button twice

If the Hour Chime is only displayed:

  1. Hold down the adjust button and press the start/stop button three times

Purchase watchbands for the timex 1440 sport

My son's watch (WR 50M) broke... so I have a strap, if you'd like it.
He loved this watch and it would cost about the price of a new one to repair, so I'm buying him a new one. He's had the same watch for years... bless, huh?
If you anywhere I can purchase another WR 50M - 1440 Timex, I'd be most grateful.

I need a operation manual for my timex Expedition indiglo WR 50M watch.I couldn't able to set the digital timings of my watch (since watch contain both dial and digital timing)

http://www.timex.com/info/Product_Instruction_Guides_Downloads

There are so many applications use of the manual will be mandatory.

Use the numbers on the back of your watch and you will have a PDF version of your instruction manual.

Hope this tip helps

Timex expedition indiglo wr 50m

I had the same problem, and could not find any answers on timex.com. After you place the battery in and it begins to beep, push all four buttons in at the same time. This should "reset" the watch -- at least it did for me.
