Dell optiplex 745 stuck in THE configuration after upgrading to Pentium 4 processor. and i cant get access to the bios heddin 2.6.6

P4 what, what does its lid stated, P/n FULL
only P4HT works here, not P4 older than 2003 sold.

so let me guess, you didnt ask DELL first.
for a list of processors this motherboard supports.
and the other processor (unnamed) works? (2nd shoe drops)
Didnt upgrade the BIOS first, so it can support a larger list
of qualified Dell Processors?
RTC coin cell fresh, not dead,? 2.9vdc minimum.
Dead BIOS is wrong processor, or bad RAM.
assumes good monitor and PSU.
and both fans spin, PSU and CPU.
not running CPU nake,d no heat sink and fan is (super bad choice)

steps not taken.
1: ask dell first. (dah factor 1, we are not dell)
2: tell Dell what P4, it is (it has a full number on top that you forgot to state.)
3: upgrade bios if dell tells you it does this version of P4, and id does not? then back to P4 store for correct P4 only DELL told you can work.
"called the qualified Processor list" only dell has. ok.?
4: install it correctly, with heat sink, thermal grease and fan.4557c396-1c63-42c2-bb2c-741976dcca76.jpg

We have a samsung side by side fridge freezer dispenser model and the fridge side has stopped working but the freezer does appear to still be functioning. The fridge temp control keeps restting itself to...

Hi. If you remove the light unit ond the lower casing which has four screws two of which are under the small vent covers that unclip. The light unit by the way has two screws under the difuser and that unclips. Mark the top before removeing with tape to give ease of replacement. After removing the top light unit inside the fridge and unclipping the two electrical terminals it can be removed. The same is true for the lower unit. Be aware the lower unit will be frozen in place. Ease it away to break the ice seal and remove the electrical connections. Use a hairdrier on full powar to fefrost the cooler unit at the rear of the fridge. Use the same method to defrost the removed fan unit. Pay attention to the fan drain. It may need the insulation trimming to make it drain and work again when re installed. Cut it away with a craft knife. When it is dry and defrosted re install in using the reverse procedure. Be aware it will frost up again and need you to do the whole thing again as soon as the fan gives signs of fouling on ice. You will hear it catch. Regards. Paul.

P4 System w/ Intel D865GBF Sckt 478 reboots on shutdown

it sounds like a component is overheating.  clean out all the dust from all the components and make sure the case is getting positive air pressure (more fans blowing in than out) as opposed to negative (more fans blowing out than in).  if you don't have more than one fan, then get some at newegg.com since you're running an old p4 which isnt exactly notable for its efficiency in power use (and consequently temperature).  if you're running a discrete graphics card as well, you'll want to make sure thats keeping cool.  since it isn't windows, these two components are the most likely above all other suspects.

ASUS P4-533 won't power up.

Hi,
Please disconnect all the connectors and put them one by one and try following DYI
1.Refix the connectors and the check the power is coming.
2.If the power is coming in the machine and the fans are moving then the issue is with the RAM refixing open the cabinet and then refix the RAM module and it will work.

My Computer will not work fans did work but have also now stopped

Hello,

You may want to make sure that both the atx connector and the additional 4pin p4 connector are tight. Also, either tighten or remove all expansion cards because one could be loose or bad. You may also try re seating the cpu. It could also be the voltage switch on the back of the power supply (if it has one -- some do some dont). There could also be something shorting between the motherboard and the case.

Could also be the case that the initial cpu is fried due to no grease and the new cpu may not be compatible with that motherboard. Make sure that if that motherboard has jumpers that they are set correctly for you specific cpu.

YOu can find documentation and driver for your product here.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

Thanks

Processor fan

Maybe you have not put the correct fan on and it has shut down to protect itself. Processors overhead catastrophically in a matter of seconds. Also did you connect the fan to a power supply on the motherboard.
