Double lines of print (same words)

Hi,
I'm trying to resurrect an hp psc 2210 all in one printer/fax/scanner for temporary use at a conference. All seems well, except that when I print, I get a double or eveb triple line of text - the same words - like a shadow almost above the main text line.
I don't see this problem mentioned anywhere on the HP site.

I have the identical problem with an HP PSC 1110. It occurs systematically with imported files, sporadically with all others. I've tried re-installing the hardware and software, re-calibrating the heads etc. Nothing seems to work! Help!

You may just need to align the cartridges??

  1. Press Setup on the top control panel.
  2. Press 5 to select Maintenance , then 2 to select Align Print Cartridges .
or clean them:

  1. Make sure the printer is loaded with plain, white paper. Remove any special or colored paper.
  2. Press Setup on the top control panel.
  3. Press 5 to select Maintenance , then 1 to select Clean Print Cartridges . The procedure takes about a minute and produces a printout, which may be discarded.
You may also have to reset the printer:

Force the HP All-in-One to reinitialize by following the steps below:
  1. Turn the unit off by pressing the ON button.
  2. Disconnect the power cord.
  3. Wait five seconds, then reconnect the power cord.
  4. If necessary, turn the unit back on and try printing again.
  5. If the unit fails to read the card again, reset the All-in-One. Repeat Steps 1 – 4, but before plugging the unit back in, press and hold the # and 6 keys on the HP All-in-One numeric keypad. Continue to hold these keys down for a few seconds after plugging the unit back in to reset it. Once the All-in-One reestablishes communication with the computer, reset the language and country/region.

HP PSC 2210 - Printer sais: In conversation

Hi Pascal,

This looks to me like if the "fax" portion of the All-in-One was engaged.
Please try unplugging the telephone cable at the back of the printer.

Turn the printer off and then remove the power cable.
Leave it like this fro 10 seconds.

Reconnect the power cable and turn the printer “on”.
The message should have disappeared.
Now reconnect you telephone cable.

This might have happened if the printer “answered” te phone line and fro some reason it didn’t hang up.

Cheers,
Ed
