I have the lexmark x1270. When a prit job is cancelled, it does not fully cancel and I cannot print the next job. I tried to uninstall it, but I couldn't because a message keeps coming up to wait for the printer to finish..

Check the bottom right side of the PC screen.

If you see the printer icon there, double click it. That opens the print queue.

Highlight the print job that is causing the failure and delete it.

A print job, although cancelled, doesn't leave the printing list.

Please try this approach:
  1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)
  2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.
  3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

My lexmark x1270 will not cancel printing queue

Hello, Skellycj

What you can do is unplug the printer from the power outlet and let it sit whilst deleting the jobs from the print queue on the PC.

On a windows machine you want to got to START, Control panel, Under printers, open up the printer and click on each task and delete or cancel, then reboot the computer.

This will ensure there is nothing in the printer queue and the printer stops printing tasks. I hope this helps you, we do hope you leave positive feedback and ratings for your free answer today.

I cant find how to cancel printing on my lexmark x1270

If you click on the printer icon (bottom right) of your screen and look at the print queue you should be able to stop printing and cancel the print job or all the print jobs in the print queue.

Printer failing to print

start --> run --> services.msc

press enter / click on ok

scroll down to print spooler and right click on it and click on restart and then go back into printers and faxes and right click on printer and cancel all documents or delete the print job

If that fails to work you may need to use the utility that came with your printer to cancel it - short of that you can just turn the printer off for about 5 seconds and back on.
