Try downloading any program that manages disks (partition magic for example ) and see if all the space appearsin that program, if so asign to that space a drive letter and format it .... (with the program that u will use )

u may also try to go at the BIOS setting, and see if it\s capacity is limited there(some BIOS's allow this kind of settings ) ; and u can also try to use a data recovery software, and make extensive investigation with that software, witch may tell u if there is a damage and where (or if there are marked bad sectors), and even try to fix it ...

they are a lot of programs that manages partitions, many free, keep on looking ....

    if u don't find them i'm sure i'll get around paying .... :-$

I have a compaq witha samsung hd M/NSP2504C, S/N S09QJ1ULB30333. What are the speed and buffer specifications and which hard drive would you recommend for a compatable replacement or slave.

Samsung SP2504C is a 250 GB hard disk drive using the new SATA-300 interface, which allows a maximum theoretical transfer rate of 300 MB/s. Its main specs also include an 8 MB buffer, 7,200 rpm rotation speed and support to NCQ (Native Command Queuing). In this review we checked the performance of Samsung SP2504C installed on a motherboard using a regular SATA-150 port and also on a motherboard using the new SATA-300 port.
This very same hard disk drive is also available with a 200 GB capacity, being called SP2004C. Both belong to SpinPoint P120 series from Samsung.

Jumper setting for slave drive

there is no such master or slave setting when SATA is used.
it is mainly used to tell the motherboard which one is master or slave when connected with IDE cable (PATA).
you don't need to worry about it as you are using a SATA HD.

the boot disk priority can be set in the BIOS
press del or F2 after you press the power button on CPU. you will be put with the BIOS/CMOS setup. go to boot priority and set accordingly, there is also an option to set the default hard disk in case you have more than one HD.

Is my hard drive broken? Cant get it recognised on other PCs

I'm having a similar problem with the same Akasa integral enclosure, so far I have tried 3 different hard disks and not one of them will work properly and on two different computers.. , all of the hard disks I've tried are Samsung .. but I'm sure that makes no difference. I plan to send back the enclosure to where I bought it from and get a different one from a different manufacturer.

PC Doctor error code Failed SMART Test Error Code HD521-2W

This is in an HP PC? This error (like most SMART errors) is indicative that your disk is on its way out. Your best bet is to buy a new disk quickly, and get important information off this one! SMART errors are usually fairly accurate, though occasionally disks go on for years.

I have the same HDD but system does not recognize the full size

hi there this is because of  unpartitioned disk space i.e, you wouldnt have partitioned rest of the memory while installing OS you would have only partitioned only 130gb tat is the reason it shows tat much :)

u create a partion then u will be able to use memory for its fullest :)
