Can't turn on wifi for my asus n53s

There are two ways that Wireless connection can be turned on or off. Make sure the Wi-Fi switch on the right side (next to the CD/DVD-RW tray) is positioned in the "on " position. This switch should be your first check, as it also overrides the keyboard activation settings. If it is already in the "on" position, and it still doesn't work, you will have to turn it on via a soft-key combination [fn] + [F2], while in Windows. This will pop up a graphic icon, onscreen, for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. If they are "off", they will be shown in combination with a red circle with a slash through it. If they are active/on, it will be just the corresponding icon, without the "circle-slash." Use the touchpad or mouse to click on the wireless device you want to turn on or off. (Both, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi can be used at the same time, or individually.) Now you should be ready to connect to another wireless device. :)

Wireless capability won't turn on

Make sure you Press and Hold the FN function key then hit the F2 key.

Maybe you don't have your wireless turned on. Look on both sides and in front for the Wireless Switch and turn it on.

Also once the wireless switch is turned on there are keystrokes that can toggle the wireless on or off. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left of the keyboard, then hit the correct F1 thru F12 key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit will have the wireless signal icon )))) on it. Or it might have the icon of a tower with the wireless signal icon )))). Normally the screen will display Wireless On or Wireless Off when you toggle the wireless.

Some laptops might have a wireless button instead of a wireless switch located above the keyboard or on the front or sides.

Can't turn on my WiFi on Asus UL30V

Look on both sides of your laptop for a switch. The switch might even be in the front of the laptop. If you see it, slide it or push it depending on the type. Normally when it is on there should be a blue light indicating so.

You also have keystrokes that turn the wireless on an off. Hit the FN (Function Key) + F1 thru F12 key. Look for the F1 thru F12 key that controls the wireless. Normally it will have a wireless signal on it. The signal will be an icon that looks like )))). Once you have the correct key that controls the wireless hit the FN key and hold it down and hit the F1 thru F12 key that controls the wireless. Normally there will be a popup on the screen that says Wireless On or Wireless Off.

@kblossom1280

There's two switch to turn the wireless capability of this laptop:

1. You need to turn ON the physical wireless switch located at the top of the keyboard (see image below)

ray_tosh_8.png
2 If that doesn't turn the Wireless ON, you need to press the Fn+F8 key (the Fn key is located on the left side of the space bar).

Good luck.

How to switch wireless on

To activate and deactivate the wireless, you have to press and hold down the Fn key while you press the F2 once. If it's already activated, this will turn Off the wireless or if it's deactivated (Off) this will turn it On. This shortcut key is more or less the same on almost all the New Asus Laptops.
Good luck.
