How do i know if my thermostat is not working in my 1999 murcury cougar

After engine is warm be careful and feel the upper and lower coolant hose's they both should feel the same ( careful could be hot ) if only one is hot bad thermostat. Also feel the are blowing thur your radiator should feel warm to hot, if cold bad thermostat.Good luck

follow the top radiator hose to engine,the piece the hose connects to is the thermostat housing,remove the hose then the two bolts holding down housing and there is your thermostat

1999 mercury cougar only blows cold air, no heat.

It's very common in the Cougar, Hate to say it, but I think you know the answer. You need a new Heate Core, PS, Their a B#$%#.
