I sounds like a problem with your print head or possibbly a leaking one. Run the head cleaning a time or two to see if it clears up. Sometimes ink will leak into the machine and streak on the following pages until it wears off the internal part.
Hi
I will assume the type of printer you have is an inkjet printer. If a single jet is not working then a single white line will be produced in the middle of the page. If one of the jets is activated all of the time then output will be produced as a single black line. Use the following steps to isolate the problem:
- Replace the print cartridge
- Check the flexible cabling for continuity and for short circuits between adjacent connectors
- exchange the control board for a good one
- finally check the power supply
Hope this helps!
The problem is in the yellow toner cartridge path inside the printer.
Something has jammed it up a bit. Try taking out the yellow cartridge and blowing
firmly into the small hole at the bottom of the spout that looks to have a
sponge inside. Use a straw and make sure your blown air is dry. Then lightly tap
the cartridge a few times. Then use the straw and once again blow very firmly
inside the receiving path (inside the printer) for the spout on the cartridge.
Make sure you are blowing into the spout path at the bottom - not the gear drive
path in the middle.
Replace the cartridge, power on and print
another page. You should see that the section is gone
or diminished in size. If it is not gone, simply repeat the above steps until it
is gone. You will see that the faded out strip gets smaller and smaller each
time until it's gone.
The yellow and magenta image units may be the problem. Yellow may have worn out on one end causing the yellow line. If the pink dots show up on every page but move around from page to page, there may be damage to the magenta image unit. You can remove the image units from the machine and look at the drums (long green cylinders), this should be shiny and clean. If not, you may need to replace.
sounds like you need a replacement drum as it sounds like it is faulty, this is a replacable part and needs to ber replaced from time to time, this is a common symptom of this fault
