Hotpoint bwm129 wont finish a cycle. super wash and rinse hold lights are flashing.have checked pump for obstructions and waste pipe. any suggestions?

Manual says to unplug maching from wall for at least 40 seconds to a minute. This will reset the unit. If that does not work you will need to call a service tech.

Try checking the filter for a blockage or pump being jammed with a button , disconnect drain hose at sink hold a few feet off ground over a bucket should pump/ flow quite freely if not then check filter and pump. good luck

replace the motors brushes check the filters
and clear any bits of bra wire etc

then reset the machine {usually hold power in and apply the mains}

Engine fault or main board fault. Most likely main board.
Check cable harness from main board to engine. Check the carbon brushes on the engine. If its all okay, replace main board

Check the filter and the actual pump itself for blockage.unless you have already done so, also pump itself could be faulty.

You need to clean the filter.
Remove lower rear cover of washer.
Locate and remove large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean the filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here as well

The flashing lights means that an error had been detected.

The machine must be unplugged from main to check the drain hose and the drain pump.
The most common is that the drain pump is clogged with debris and must be unlocked.

there may be something stuck in the pump itself. hairgrips and brawires are a common find.

I've got a BWM129 which is causing me problems too (the washing is smelly at th eend of the cycle!) - How did you get the filter unit out of its housing, I turns around but doesn't seem to want to come out!

If it is not rinsing it may have a small piece of clothing stuck in the waste pipe or pump. Remove the rubber hose from the waste pump and check inside the hose and make sure the pump spins freely.
