MS Wireless notebook mouse 4000

My comp. is not reading the USB reciever to my mouse. It's either that, or the reviever and mouse are not synced themselves, but I don't think it's that because I've hit the connnect button on both devices several times. It was working a few days ago, then I went traveling with it and it no longer works so I'm wondering if that's part of the problem. There is no visible damage on either device, so I'm confused. Thanks in advance.

Hi ... I had the same problem ... Suddenly the notebook was not recognizing the Wireless Receiver ... changing USB ports was of little help ... then I opened the receiver and I remade all the soldering on the botton of the PCB ... It seems to be a robust solution ...

I have a Microsoft receiver model 1024, the light sous not come on when plugged into a working USB. I heard you can disassemble the receiver and check the connections. I cannot find any screws that keep it together, does someone know how to open th case to look inside the reciever?

Has this mouse for 3 years and the green light stop working on the receiver. I pryed apart the receiver and soldered the main outside anchor solder joints on the USB plug and it started working! I figured I had nothing to lose. This one will be a good backup mouse as I already ordered a new one.... (Someone else mentioned this as a solution in this thread and it was a GREAT tip!)

I have a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000.

I have tried: 1) new batteries in the mouse; 2) re-synching the mouse & USB plug in device; and 3) installing (what I think was the software for this mouse) - all to no avail.

The light does not come on the USB plug in no matter which USB port I use and the error message reads "USB device not recognized". did not have a download for this device to try to re-load it.

Any help or suggestions?

I have the same problem, my receiver 1024 hit the floor and I loose rage connection with the mouse, I opened found a little transistor loose, I stick it back but does not work. I guest it is a sensitive transistor broken. don't let the receiver get hit.

I have already broken two of them. It seems that the receiver is very sensitive to hits. Probably a PCB issue. I disassembled the receiver and discovered that if I bend it a little it starts working but if I leave it stops.

Where is link button on GE 2.4 ghz wireless optical mouse with nano receiver

There usually isn't one, they pair themselves. Do you have the switch turned on under the mouse. The optical light should be on & power to the reciever through the USB port. Try another USB port that you know that works.

Wireless keyboard and mouse not working after reastart

Just a thought--try this. Go into the device manager and delete all the USB ports. Don't worry--they will be reinstalled on restart. Sounds like there is something having to do with them that is confusing the computer.
Just right-click on My Computer (or Computer in Win 7), choose properties and then click on device manager to get there.

Logitech wireless mouse (m305) isn't working

Does this mouse need to sync with the reciever plugged into the computer?
Somewhere on the mouse and posssibly on the reciever plugged into the USB
port on the computer it should have a connect button. Usually to connect/sync
a mouse or keyboard press the button on the reciever first then press the connect
button on the mouse. Or if th mouse has a button just press the mouse button,
often the mouses lazer will blink until the mouse connects with the reciever then
just stay lit at this point it sould work. Another Question, how are the batteries in
the mouse?

How do i connect my wireless mouse to the lap top

the mouse requires a usb adapter, which works like a 2 way radio to send and recieve the movement, location, and button signals from the mouse. Just plug in the wireless mouse adapter into an open usb jack, most of them don't even need software, they configure themselves automatically.

Cant get my wireless mouse to work

1. Press the sync button on the reciever (the only button on the reciever)

2. When the light blinks, press the sync button on the mouse (the button you are talking about on the mouse is a sync button, not a reset button, there is no reset button on the mouse), after you press the sync button on the mouse, the blinking will stop and will remain steady

How to activiate iball wireless keyboard and mouse

My keyboard and mouse are microsoft, But, I think they all sync the same, Look on the bottom of the mouse and the keyboard, you should find a small button, one on the reciever also, these need to be pushed in a certain sequence, Mine is the keyboard first, then the reciever, watch the active light on the reciever, it should flash a few times then stay on, then it's synced, Do the same with the mouse, Your's could be different though, it could be mouse first. One more thing they need to be less than a couple feet apart when you do this. so that's it Good luck. Bob

How do I connect the mouse to the notebook receiver?

this is usually pretty simple. Just connect the usb device to the notebook. Then it should say driver installed ok or something to that affect.
if you have already done this and its not working did you try to sync the mouse with the reciever. to do this you have to connect the usb to the notebook. then hit the button on top of the reciever (the thing that connects to the notebook.) then hit the button on the bottom of the mouse. then click the left mouse button and it should work. it should be noted that you have to do this if you replace the batteries as well. thanks

How can i install my cordless mouse with no instalation cd

place batteries in mouse.
connect The Transmitter/reciever to the pc ( probably USB) and then press the sync button under the sender if there is one, and then press the sync button under the mouse.
windows should recognize it.
To get the driver search for your model on the manufacturer's website
and download the driver ....install driver and plug mouse in.

If this does not work let me now what OS ( operating system ) you are running.
and what you are plugging the mouse into.
