If its not Lamp ,most of the time its the Ballast Board it is what turns Lamp on. Go to Encompass Parts Distr website CK out your Model number see what they have in Parts or call 1-800-638-3328
Have you CK Fan that cools Lamp if it is not running Lamp will not light there for set will not come on But if fan is ok then your Ballast board is more then likely the problem Part# for Ballast is HA01232

I have hitachi lcd rear projection tv model 60v500A at first I was getting a red spot on centar of tv with in two mounths the spot got bigger. I chanched the lamp but now i don't have a picture, the red indicator on tv is now blinking.

Ok I have replaced the lamp making sure the lamp box switch is depresed as well as the lamp door switch. I turn on and all lights come on then go out.the red lamp light blinks. The tv does not come on.
I herd that if unplug it for 3 hr's it will {hard reset the tv is this true?
Can I try anything else?
I also would like to know what does the blinking lamp light mean?
