You will need to replace the convergence ICs and possibly the 6.8 ohm resistors. The Phillips DPTV305-DPTV345 convergence repair kit also works for your model. You can get the kit which also contains the CD with instructions from www.tvrepairworld.com

Blurred picture red and blue shadows

Hi,
Please run the convergence feature on your TV. Its giving you double image because the red, green, and blue guns are dis aligned. By running convergence it will realign the guns properly. You need to run the convergence feature at least once a week. Please note this is only for CRT rear projection TV's and I assumed it was. If it is an LCD rear projection, then there's nothing you can do to fix such thing, but call a repair person. But if doing the convergence doesn't fix the problem, you need to call a repair person. But I hope you won't have to refer to the manual on how to go about it
Good luck!

I am getting a double image on my 48 inch television how can i get rid of it? it is showing colors green and red on double image

Assuming that your TV is a rear-projection TV, then it sounds like the separate red, green & blue tubes aren't set correctly.

Each tube needs to be alligned exactly to produce the image on the screen. If any of the 3 are mis-alligned then the effect you describe is caused.

Somewhere in the menu settings, will be an option to set the Convergence. This option will allow you to set the allignment of all three tubes.

Older sets do not have this option, and need to be adjusted via controls on the main PCB.

Red outlines in the picture

somewhere in the tv menu there is a place to make video adjustments. one should be for aligning the color guns. one is for red and the other two are green and blue. it will give you a cross in the center of the screen. it should also give you prompts to adjust the lines for centering and to save changes. this happens eventually on all rear projection tv sets.

Samsung HCM5525W TV red blue outlines on images

The Samsung has bad convergence IC's most likly. This should be repair ONLY by a trained technician as a TV set is not a place to experiment or tinker with because of the extremly high voltage inside. This repair should cost you in the range of 250 to 400 bucks . Good Luck
