Replace belt on fantom cyclone vacuum? the manual does not decribe replacing the roller belt - i can't get it open to expose the belt

Hi! Happy to help with that. Please follow the steps below.

• Lay cleaner flat and flip cleaner to expose nozzle base. Base should lay flat and face up. To remove nozzle guard, use Phillips screwdriver to remove the three (3) screws.
• Lift and remove brushroll. Dispose of old belt.
• Slide belt onto motor shaft.
• Place new belt in area of brushroll without bristles.
• With new belt in place, pull and slide brushroll into nozzle making sure that the brushroll end cap on the left is in the correct orientation. Rotate brushroll manually to make sure belt is properly aligned.
• Reattach nozzle guard by carefully sliding back into place. Interlock rollers and nozzle guard by tilting rollers down towards the base while replacing the nozzle guard.
• Be sure to replace all three (3) screws.

How did you pull out the wires from circuit board ?
Is it with professional help or through some other means

Remove 4 screws on top and top plate will lift up exposing the belt and roller. Make sure you remove hair and other debris before replacing.

Remove the 4 screws on the yellow top of the vacuum. The yellow plate will pop up exposing the belt and roller.

There are two black screws on the back of the hood top that need to be taken out and then the top hood will come off forward. Then you can see the belt and rollerbrush. Slide to rollerbrush out and put on a new belt to the motor pulley and then put belt onto the roller and insert it back into the nozzle housing

If it is similar to other models, remove 4 screws on top and cover will lift off exposing belt and roller

remove the covers over the headlights and under the shiny foul. there are two screws. there are two tabs that hold down the cover over the wheels, they just pop on/off with a click.
on my xt. i had to remove the rolling brush and clean out all the hair that was stuck in the bearings. remove the screw holding down the motor and belt. pry out the roller brush to get to the bearings. there was some serious hair ball in there.
reassembled mine and it works perfectly now :)

At first I would think it was the thermal overload, which is covered in the manual. But I would guess that you have let it sit for 30 minutes to cool down and tried again and the vacuum still didn't work.
I would think you may have one of four problems.
1. Your thermal overload was tripped and is stuck and will need replaced.
2. You have a clog in your vacuum lines or the brush roller is froze, which keeps causing the thermal overload to trip.
3. Your power cord has a short, which would need replaced.
4. Your power switch is bad, which would need replaced.
Out of these 4 possible problems I would say the only one you could fix on your own would be problem #2. Make sure the vacuum is unplugged and take the brush roller off and clean it, make sure it moves free. Check your vacuum lines to make sure you do not have a clog, other wise the motor does not get air flow to cool it down causing the thermal overload to trip. As for problem 1, 3, and 4 I would suggest taking it to a repair shop.

Hello, your Fantom vacuum will take a Panasonic U vac belt, to replace it, their are two screws in the back, one on each side of the back of the housing, take out the two screws and lift off the top hood, and the vac belt is on the side, remove the brush roller clean any debis away, put the new belt around the metal motor shaft first then around the brush roller, and pull down into the housing, make sure it locks in evenly, then turn the roller to make sure it moves freely. then put the hood back on front first, hold down and put the screws back in, in the back. now your ready to vacuum. The belt may have stretched to the point that it won't turn the brush roll, you might try a new belt and hope that fixes it. Parts for these older Fathoms are scarce and are obsolete.
