Autible click at power-on, but standby light stays on and no functionality. Have tried pulling some/all inputs and outputs off (including speakers), then unplugging for a minutes or two, still nothing. No crowned CAPs.

Hi: Todd

One other thing you might try is running you hand across all the buttons on the front of the unit to make sure none of the are sticking closed. As this will give a indication of being locked up. In this state the Microprocesor will be in a loop trying to do the same function over and over again, the result of this is no other functions will work until it is resolved. If no buttons are sticking in the pushed posistion then open the unit and check all fuses on the secondary side of the large power transformer for opens. On this unit you should hear two clicks from two different relays, the first is the standby relay, and at this point the unit does what is called a post test (Power on seff test), if all goes well during this time the micro sends signal to close output relay this is second Click at this point music is heard. You did not mention if your display is working or not if not then you are missing voltage supplies from the power supply. I would be more concerned right now with the secondary low voltage supplies at this point, providing first solution does not work

Have a Great Day!

My harman kardon avr151 standby light continuesly blinking and not working

Disconnect power then check all of your input and output connections on BOTH ends including the speakers to be sure they are firmly seated into their respective terminals. Fix any of those, reconnect the power cord and turn back on.

Pioneer vsx-518-k does not want to come out of standby

Try disconnecting all the cables from the back, including the speakers. Sometimes a short develops on an output stage. If the unit stays on, reconnect one input/output at a time, turning the unit off during the reconnection, to isolate the problem. If it does not stay on, it's an internal problem, requiring a service call.

Ikasu dvd boombox -no sound

If you have power to the unit but no sound, chances are the audio output ic has shorted causing a load, turn volume down, power off, remove speaker wires, power on, if standby light stays on audio output ic needs to be changed. If however the standby light changes or goes off it indicates a short in the wires or speaker issue, hook up one at a time to identify the problem one.

CHECK IC101 AND IC102 THESE ARE THE + AND - 15VOLT REGULATORS. iF THEY ARE OFF BY MORE THEN 3 VOLTS IT WILL SHUT THE UNIT DOWN/IC101 IS THE +15V AND IC102 IS THE -15V IF THESE VOLTAGES ARE GOOD THEN THE UNIT IS GOING IN TO THE PROTECT MODE AND YOU WILL HAVE SHORTED OUTPUT TRANSISTORS. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.

My Nakamichi av7 has no output to the speakers. it has not been used for a year but was fine when last used. is it a sticky relay?

This could be a number of things and withouit taking measurements internally, there is no way to be sure. Some possibilities include:
1) defective capacitors in the power supply.
2) shorted outputs
3) Open power transformer (either the standby transformer or main one)

To attempt to narrow down the possibilities, listen carefully when yyou attempt to power it on. Do you hear a click? Are there any lights on the unit at all? If the standby circuit is OK, you should see the standby light on.

Please update this with any additional details you can and we'll continue from there.

Thanks,
Dan

Your PC have Power supply Defective,
so your must find a usual spare power supply on the market, compatibilty as 115V input and more of 350W power, to have stabilty.

Kenwood Receiver KR-a5020 receiver won't come out of standby

The unit is in what is commonly known as "protect" mode. This means that a problem has been detected in the final output stage of the amp and the outputs are shutdown to prevent further damage to either the receiver or speakers. This should not be a difficult repair for a service shop. Expect a parts cost in the $25-$40 range. Add in the local labor rate for the total repair cost.
