I have a Samsung HLN617W DLP 61" TV, the screen only shows green color, no red and blue. The right side of screen about 4" wide is all dark from top to bottom. Could it be a light engine problem?

No. This is a DLP TV. It gets it's color by a color wheel. If color seems to drift across screen or there is a loud-ish whining noise from back of TV that you can here clear across a room, then this color wheel may be bad. They wear out.
Bad Color Wheel, Located Right Behind Lamp when you remove Lamp you will see the Color Wheel.

Had similar problem. Thought it was the lamp. Examined old lamp but it appeared to be good. Ordered a new one anyway. Changed the lamp but the TV screen would not come on. It would make the usual noise as it was going to come on normally but it would cycle 3 times & then turn off. The LED lights in the front panel would indicate a defective lamp. Then read about the ballast. Changed the ballast & still same problem. Tried starting the TV without the lamp installed & noticed that the color wheel did not spin. Removed old color wheel & discovered it was broken. This appears to be the cause of all of my problems. I wish I new earlier of the test-turn on the TV without the lamp being installed & check to see if the color wheel is spinning. Would have save money on the lamp & ballast.
When you replaced the color wheel it sounds like you took the DMD board out or you bumped it? Either way the DMD board will need to be realigned and that involves reaching into the TV while it is in normal operation. The DMD board in the one sitting right behind the digital bard and has a small fan facing the heat sink on it. There are three screws 2 on the left side on one on the lower right that need to be loosened just a bit and then with the set on you will have to move the board back and forth to achieve dead center. Remember from the back moving the board to the left moves the picture to the right and pushing down on that board will shift the picture upwards.
