KG800 Hi guys. I have a problem in that the screen has just gone blank and I can't see anything. I am sure it is not covered by warranty. Any idea how I could flush it or fix it?

If your Acer is brand new and less than 1 year old then I suggest returning it to the shop where you bought it and have it repaired under warranty. If you try to repair it you may void your warranty.

is the acer still covered by the warranty? you can get it repaired for free if it is, its a common fault with these, my friend over here in finland has one of those and it did the same thing, he got it replaced / fixed for free since it was under warranty. get yours fixed also.

The problem you are describing is a problem with one of the chips in the camera that controls image processing. It seems to have failed and needs to be replaced. Following are the instructions to send your camera to Olympus for service.

have the lcd replaced

is it still covered by warranty? do you see anything on the screen for example if you place it under a lamp, do you see anything on the screen? that would mean the backlight is faulty.

you may have a faulty backlight or loose connector. If you got warranty that will cover the fix.

select your sansa fuse from the list, click find driver
on the new page select sansa firmware updater click continue
click skip registeration

download the firmware updater

install the updater

plug in the device when asked and follow on screen instructions.

u dont have the right to solve it.
so go for the service station and u must have solved
ur lcd is dameged or the cabels connecting the lcd is cut off

Are you able to see the screen as if just the back lighting is turned off?

its probably the sensors inside your phone. most manufacturer uses magnet or sensing... if you can open your phone check if its still in place... if not visit your service center...

As a default setting on the KG800, the phone automatically locks due to its touch screen sensitivity. If it doesn't work with the slide closed, try opening it, going into Settings, then Security, then touchpad lock, and set it on off. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas. Sorry. It's a great phone with nice features and all, but I've gotta tell you, I'm getting pretty sick of all its problems.
