Question about Zebra 105SL Thermal Label Printer

1 Answer

Bad driver? I had a 105S zebra and have been using it for a year with an MicrosoftAccess inventory program created for us. We print labels from the access program. Everything was going fine until I had to wipe the laptop we printed from. The printer drives had to be replaced and ever since then I get blotchy labels or the lettering is stretched on random labels or the writing is bunched together with the UPC. Have you heard of this problem before?

Failed to load the print preview or failed to print.

You need to run the Wasp software under an Administrative account or Right click the program Icon and select run as administrator (only need to do this 1 time, not over and over again). Once the program loads, set the label printer again by clicking file at the top left and selecting Setup Label Printer. Select your label printer. Now try printing the labels again.

You should probably select ZPL, but that depends on which program you will use together with the printer.

Power off printer. Press and hold pause button while power on. This will print dark black line across the entire label. Check for white vertical lines. If you see any in the area of the label where you are experiencing a problem then the printhead should be replaced. Power off and on to exit diagnostics.

When using this now with create-a-label the only

This is a Create a Label issue, not a printer issue. I suggest that you post under that heading, or call their tech support for help. having said that, your 2742 is an EPL based printer, try installing another EPL printer in your application and see if that helps. Other EPL printers: Eltron Orion, 2442, 2543, etc.

It sounds like you:
have 90XiIII printer

either need or have a driver
either need or have a label printing program

Go to zebra.com and download the Zebra Designer label creation software package. Read the help files. Install the driver for your printer from this application. Create a label and hit print. the sequential label feature may not be available on the free version.

Normally this printer s meant to print labels.
To have them work as line printers there is only one thing to do. Start the printer while pressing on the button. When it starts feedingthe paper release the button. After printing the configuration it will act as a line printer. But the best way to use it as a receipt printer is to create a program which will send the information to the printer through a windows driver if your software can do that

Zebra label alignment

you can adjust this in the template file for your price tags. how did you create your basic price tag label? in the zebra label creator? if so, make the adjustment there. if you have a .ejf file for your price tag label, you should be able to open it in notepad and add the height in pixel dots with the "q" or "Q" command from the EPL programming handbook. This can be a little tricky, but with some trial and error, you can get it.

PRINT WILL NOT STAY ALIGNED ON EACH LABEL-RUNS ONTO NEXT LABEL

Check the tension on the Ribbon Take-up Spindle there is a nut on it that sometimes can loosen or tighten its self and will throw off the lables. Its a nut that has a of couple Hex nuts on the corner, screw the nut to about the 3rd thread from the top of the bolt facing you then tighten the hex nuts on the corners of the nut. Then try printing the labels make sure the media guide also is set to the lable size that is installed.

You need the correct driver for the 105Se. The 300 dpi SL driver is not compatible.

Unfortunately, Zebra does not make it's older drivers available online. You will need to locacte someone with the correct driver for whichever version of Windows you are using.
