It sounds like one of two things, either the evaporator fan is not running(fan in the back of the freezer behind lower back panel) or the bi-metal thermostat that may be in series with it is open.. Also some newer models use a lower voltage fan motor, use to be all were 120 volts........ It is under warranty for one year so call for authorized service to repair it...... (all of the cooling on the refrigerator side is done by air circulating from the freezer side, also possible there is ice blocking the air flow somewhere) hope this helps
This is a common problem, and worth fixing if the frig isn't to old. The frig is making cold air just fine, which is a plus! All we need to do is get that air to circulate throughout the entire appliance.
Behind the freezer wall is a fan called an evaporator fan. This fan simply blows the air straight up the back of the freezer. From here it enters the frig at the top left and sinks to the bottom. Then it re-enters the freezer and continues its loop :D
So, either the circulation is being obstructed by something (maybe ice build up), or the fan is out.
Behind the freezer wall is the evaporator fan (that has probably stopped moving). Either ice build up (or some obstruction) has stopped it, or it has just served its time and needs to be replaced. Generally I would just replace it. You never know if it has been damaged from ice blockage or whatever the problem may be. If the motor is trying to spin and it is being held in place, bearing could be wearing out or completely gone which will just cause you more pain in the near future. So replace that puppy and you should be all set! :D I looked up your model number and your evaporator fan motor is part number 482469 and should run you between $50 and $80. good luck!
Check to see if the fan inside the freezer is working... Also check if you have any frost build-up inside the freezer ..Frost buildup is an indication of either a non working defroster and/or a bad fan. Can't diagnose it with limited information.
there's no cool air coming into the freezer or refrigerator sections. as soon as it starts there is a clicking sound and it stops. what's the problem? the fan works at the back. i've cleaned all the coils below. thanks
