Mine is stuck also. When I turn it on it keeps turning off and on like it's trying to reboot or something, with just the "Sandisk" logo showing on the screen. I have to hold down the power button to turn it off. My computer can't find it when I connect it to the computer. Any suggestions other than hold the power button down (most of us know of and have tried this trick by now...we're not idiots :o)

Simply reset the Sansa e250 by holding the power button down for 10-15 seconds.

With mine the "refresh database" screen went away after 20-30 minutes. I doubt that for most of you it is stuck on that screen, when in fact it is actually doing what it says, refreshing the database.

Sansa MP4 player is not recognized by my computer and it stays on the refresh database screen

Hi,
Mostly this kind of problem occurs in sansa due to incompatible settings. Try the MSC mode in the setup instead of the normal mode. Then the player will appear as a unique drive. Copy the music files to appropriate folders and eject the drive. The database will then refresh again...Also reset the settings to factory default atleast once.

Bye

Have a nice day...I hope that this solves ur problem :)

Refresh Database

Reset the player first - that should get rid of the message. Is your mp3 player a Sansa player, or an Apple iPod - both of them have a recovery method which you can find on their respective websites. I'm too lazy to paste the instructions again.

Refresh database

I had the "Refresh Database" problem with my C250, it just sat there after turning it on! However, the GOOD NEWS is, I corrected it! First I connected it to my PC, then FORMATTED the unit. This gave me an empty player that at least would turn on. Then I downloaded the Sansa "Updater" from the SanDisk website. After setting up the updater software, I connected the C250. It automatically checked for any new firmware, and loaded it into the player. After that I restarted the C250 and it again came up OK without any music loaded. The last thing I did was to load only 1.8 GB worth of music files. My take on the problem is that if you overload the memory, or interupt a file while loading, then the "datbase" function never gets done. I've had mine running for about a week now without problems! Hope it works for you too! <Good Luck> David

Sansa e250 screen is stuck on refresh database

Press the "lock" button to where the Orange is showing. Then press the record button on the left side of the MP3 for a bit. Try this several times. I did it twice and it worked! M.P.
