I found this on the Turtle Beach website: _________________________________________
If you or other players hear echoes in Live Chat:
Does it happen if you use the Microsoft communicator? Mute the microphone on your headset. Does the echoing stop? In the Xbox Dashboard > Settings > Live, set the voice to Play Through Both and unplug the talkback-controller cable. Does the echoing stop?
Echoing can sometimes be caused by high latency ("lag") on your internet connection. This may come and go depending on how much bandwidth is being used in your area.
If your talkback-controller cable's plug gets dirty, this can also cause echoing or static. Also check the input jack on the controller and make sure no foreign objects are in there.
Read these links for more advice:
Echoing can be caused by "a poor connection between the headset and the controller." http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912493 "The most likely cause is either a plug that isn't pushed all the way in, or gunk on the plug." http://xboxelle.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!1pUP4M-J1d781v7Ac0Ta8FDw!158.entry "If you hear echo, then... someone in the chat session... needs to clean off their metal headset plug." http://majornelson.com/archive/2005/12/25/get-rid-of-voice-echo.aspx

This sounds like a faulty talkback cable, you can buy a replacement on the turtle beach website or contact their support about a replacement.

When i talk people cant hear me though turtle

If you have an X1 headset...
Try using the X1 headset and mic with your PC (sound card). Green plug goes to green jack, Pink plug goes to pink jack. Can you hear your voice thru the X1 mic on your PC? If yes, then the mic works but the chat-controller cable is probably broken and should be replaced. If no, then the mic may be broken and you should contact Turtle Beach's tech support for help -- [email protected].

My turtle beach x1 mic doesnt work when i speak into the mic...how can i fix the mic???

What happens if you try using your X1 with a PC? The X1's green plug goes to the green Line Out (or Front) jack on your PC, while the X1's pink plug goes to the pink Microphone jack on your PC. If the X1 mic works with your PC, then the problem is the chat/controller cable and replacing it should fix the problem. If the mic doesn't work, then the headset will need to be replaced. Turtle Beach should be able to do that for you...

Can you try using the X1 mic on your PC? Green plug to green jack, pink plug to pink jack, USB plug to USB port. Talk into the X1 mic. Can you hear your voice? When i plug it in the controller the mic thing shows up and it wont let me talk and i can hear everyone but the mic wont let me talk?

You probably want to test your mic with the PC. If the mic works on the computer you need a new talkback cable. If it doesn't you need to contact turtle beach support about setting up a repair.

When i talk to people my mic echos realy bad and cud some1 help

Do you have an X1? If so, you should be able to use it with a PC. Try talking into the mic with your X1 connected to the PC. Does it echo there too? If not (and it shouldn't) then you probably only need to replace the chat-controller cable with a new one. Those are available for sale on the Turtle Beach website (www.turtlebeach.com). Turtle Beach tech support is [email protected].
