Several things must be in place to hear sounds on your pc. You must have speakers - the kind you not only plug into your pc but you must also plug them into your wall to have a louder sound. OR --- you can use head phones. The headphones plug into your pc sound card.
You must have a sound card or onboard sound
You must have a sound card DRIVER.
These three things and some reading will get you going
Sounds like your headphones may need to be replaced. I'm assuming they don't work with anything else.
Try cleaning the plug with a lightly dampened paper towel and use a can of compressed air to clean out the jack on the laptop. If that doesn't work, try another set of headphones.
try rolling back the driver,or go online to update it...."sound driver"maybe it is the jack plug outlet.....as a quick check, turn the system sound nearly right down, and quickly plug in your headphones into the jack outlet,if you hear anything through the head phones"not wearing them"then its the lead and jack on your speakers..
This is a known issue with the device. if you are within 30 days of purchase, exchange it at the store. If not, call sprint and ask for a replacement device. It will be the same make and model. They might be able to repair it in the store, so you can try that too.
The audio supplier usually supply's a utility and you can use that utility to set the volume. Alternatively double click on the speaker icon, click where its says "file" and select "advanced" and see if the headphones volume is up or activated, in some cases its "options" instead of "file" and properties. Check there to see.
I just fixed mine. Plug in your head phone. wait couple of seconds. you will hear clicking noise which seems to reset the receiver. 10seconds later, sounds should come on and if not unplug the head phone and you should hear it then.
