Go into the BIOS and reset it to factory default. If the drive still isn't being seen then you'll need to take the drive out of the laptop and then put it back in and be sure it reseats back into the slot properly.
If the drive still isn't being shown then its either the dvd drive or the motherboard is bad. You won't know until you try another known working drive. If the 2nd drive works then you know its the drive. If the 2nd drive doesn't work then you know its the controller on the motherboard thats bad and the motherboard would have to be replaced.
