Tomtom one not talking

I have a tomtom one and when i turn it on it will not talk but leave it for an hour and it will start working i have deleted the voice folder and just put the standard voices back on and still the same i have spoken to tomtom and they can not offer me any reason for this problem i dont think it will be a hardware

The TT voice seemed louder than usual for about 30 minutes. Then it became very quiet and barely audible and now there is no voice. The screen works fine. Restarting it made no difference. Now there is no start up sound and no voice but the other parts of the unit are working correctly.

Its about two months old and gets used about 4 hours per month.

Any suggestions ?

Used it on one trip and it worked perfectly. Demo-ed for a friend, he bought one. Set it for another trip and that's when the voice stopped working.

Go to the £1.00 store and buy a set of speakers plug this into your Tom Tom and it will start speaking again.must be the internal speaker has faliled.Hope this helps .

Same problem, have been told that Tomtom is saying nothing until he has his lawyer present, after being arrested for stealing a pig, Sorry for the joke.
My GO720 will not speak through internal speaker but have got round problem using radio or external speaker. (mine is out of warenty)

hello. i recommend that you do a factory reset as follows: With the device turned off, press and hold the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons until you see a message on the screen. Release the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset. Once the restore screen appears press Volume Up to restore the device to its factory settings or any other button to cancel. Once complete press Volume Up to reboot.

Tomtom constantly returns to Demo Mode

Hi,

My Tom Tom XL was doing the same. After several minutes it would revert to a demo and you would have to tap the screen to make it disappear, but would come back a few minutes later. I spoke with Tomtom Customer service, and the guy on the phone told me i have to plug it into the computer, go into the tomtom from My Computer, and delete a folder names Scripts. After deleting the folder, it's now working perfectly.

TomTom won't talk any more!

Maybe you accidently turn OFF or reduced the sound volume. Tap the screen to go to MAIN MENU, then tap the CHANGE PREFERENCES, you might find a speaker's icon with words TURN ON SOUND. Tap it. If still not working, check Volume Preferences to set the volume level of sound.

The tomtom was working fine. Then I think I left

The 910 has a small reset button in the area of the socket. You will see a small circular notch molded into the housing near the socket. A small paperclip will fit in the reset hole. Reset the unit and it should start normally.

Delete 1 or 2 journeys from my tomtom

If you are talking about recent destinations, you can only delete all or nothing...

BUT, if you use Poiedit, (www.poiedit.com)
you can open mapsettings.cfg on you unit and delete destinations, and resave file...

My Tomtom worked for a while then stopped working.

I have a TOMTOM 910. I suggest you call the company @
1-866-186-6866 or
1-866-486-6866.
The same thing happened to mine, TomTom was great about it. They sent me a replacement actually it wasn't until I received the 5th replacement that I got one that works right.) Everyone I've talked to @ the company has always been eager to make it right. BTW, now my TomTom works great, had it for 2 years now & wouldn't think of buying a different brand. Tomtom 1 stopped talking

Check in preferences > Change Voice to make sure that a voice is selected. If it is, it probably corrupted. Pick a new voice. If none of the other voices work, plug your TomTom into your computer and boot up TomTom HOME and reinstall the voices. If after that they still don't work, contact TomTom support and ask them for advice. They will probably have you send it in for repair on broken speakers.

TomTom One Update Problem

Same here but I moved the file "MapSettings.cfg" out of my map folder (it is in the SD card). Then TT One starts again normally but I have no clue, how I can get my "Favourites" back to my updated TomTom?
