Your manufacturer, Toyotomiusa, recommends that you tighten all the joints on the fuel line. Your owner's manual CLICK HERE contains detailed drawings showing the location of all parts, including the fuel injector. Your unit will need to be serviced by a qualified technician if you have tightened the connectors and still smell kerosene or find wet spots under your heater. It should not leak or smell of kerosene. If you're smelling kerosene, you should not operate the unit, because the leak may cause a fire.

My mistake, I was looking at the title of your inquiry. You have a model 73, not 72 as your title stated. You'll need to determine which one it is and select the right manual, by checking here:

Burning plastic smell when cold out run heater and fan inside car and out

Are you loosing radiator fluid. sometimes the heater core will rupture and you will smell burn odor. also check for strange rubbing sounds or screeching coming from the blower fan motor. or engine exhaust manifolds are hot when car is on, make sure nothing is leaning on them which will cause a burn odor. Any odor coming from outside will find it's way inside through the fresh air vents.

Microwave smell like burning rubber

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you are receiving a burning rubber smell from your Frigidaire microwave. I also see that your appliance will run for a couple of seconds, and then you hear a weird noise, followed by a burning rubber smell. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician, especially when dealing with your microwave. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine what is causing that sound as well as the burning rubber smell. Hope this is helpful.

My air conditioner on my 1999 kia sportage smell like smoking and like burning went turn on

do you turn on fan when using a/c ! if so heres a few causes-- burning smell in car, blower motor is going bad, or resistor is burning up.the resistor controls the fan speeds. good-day !

The burning smell could be due to gas leakage in the engine compartment. The gas smell is being sucked into the fresh air intake of the air conditioner. It can be avoided by checking either fuel pressure regulator or fuel injector.

I have just lit a coal fire for the first time in the living room, all is OK ecept when I went into the bedroom (2 floors above) I could smell smoke quite badly Any advice?

The chimney needs to be 3 feet taller than the highest point of the house . If you are running the clothes dryer, bathroom vent fan, or exaust hood in kitchen it makes a vacum in the house that can draw smoke into the house down the chimmney . I think when you burn wood or coal in a house it is pretty hard not to be able to smell it. Our house and clothes do not smell like smoke any more since we stopped burning wood.

Burning smell from motor when I plug cord in outlet. Also, blades do not turn.

if the smell is foul smelling the windings in the armature of the motor are shorted out against the metal housing of this armature. You need a new motor or replace the fan

Laser 72 is overheating. Top gets too hot to

Check the fan cage on the back, it should be cleaned to allow for adequate air flow. Be sure curtains are not getting pulled up to the fan cage.
This could also be due to a crack in the pot, or if you put too much fuel treatment in your fuel. Regardless of what is causing the overheat situation, an L 72 is a very old unit. You may not want to invest a great deal of money into repairing this unit. The manufacturer has discontinued several parts for the L 72 such as the main circuit board and the burner rings. Without these parts, you are out a heater.
If you can clean the fan cage and remedy the problem, that would be great. If it is a cracked pot, and you decide to replace, be sure that you know how long it has been since you replaced the ring. A ring in a Laser lasts about 7 years. If your technician does not have rings in stock, you could be out of luck when your unit needs a ring.
Be sure to plug the unit into a dedicated outlet and use a quality surge protector with at least 450 Joules to help protect the board. Hope this was of some help. If you have any further questions, visit www.keepuswarm.com. We do have inventory of these discontinued parts for Laser heaters if you decide to repair and your technician cannot get the needed parts.
