I called Bowflex and they said there is a Lower Lat Tower Upgrade (Part 001-9704) that fixes the problem for $106.10. Seems like a design defect to me, not an upgrade. Regardless, I have not purchased the part yet to see if it fixes the problem.
I had the same problem with my Xtreme and here's what worked for me, and I'm assuming the Xtreme 2 is put together pretty much the same way. Remove the rod box from the lower lat tower frame by removing the 3 screws that hold it in. Much easier if you can tip the Bowflex on it's side, or at least have someone hold it at an angle while you're removing the screws. Once you have the rod box off, you'll see that there is a screw holding each rod into the box. Remove that screw and pull the rod out about an inch or so. Rotate the rod 180 degrees and reinsert it. There's a slot in the end of the rod that engages a key, so make sure it's engaged, you shouldn't be able to rotate the rod if it is. Then reinstall the screw. Repeat for whatever other rods are hitting the cross bar and then reinstall the rod box. Worked like a champ for me. Make sure you unhook the rods from the cables when you're done with your workout, that'll really shorten the life of them if you leave them bent all the time.
Just putting a piece of wood shim below the bottom plate to tilt all the rods back a bit works like a charm, and its free. I use a cam strap to hold it in tight, but a piece of rope and a trucker's hitch would also work fine.
Better yet, undo the three screws and reverse the whole plate. Then see how long the rods stay in a bachward bent position.
