Paper jam, removed paper but still says jammed. Is there any way to tell where the jam is or reset machine ?

  • activeco Nov 30, 2009

Thanks but I've checked the machine thoroughly and found no paper. I think it's telling lies.

  • activeco Dec 01, 2009

    John,
The paper that was jammed only has a ragged edge, no paper missing. Is there a way to reset the machine ?

You should be able to have a piece of paper feed all the way without hanging.
Most of the times, you can see a small piece of paper stuck in a corner.
I have used a cut piece of plastic ( from a file folder ) and worked small pieces out that way.
Good luck, Happy Holiday's

You will need to look at the paper that was removed and see if you have retrieved all or still have a piece remaining.

Afterwards, you can unplug power and allow to set for a minutes or so, then re-connect and check.

If you still receive the error message, you have not removed the paper it is seeing.

Machine says paper jam and to remove paper No paper in machine Cant clear error codes

Disconnect the power cord from the back of the Canon Inkjet Printer. This is an important step when working inside ANY electronic device.

Unhinge the back access panel of the printer. It seems repetitive to say this, but this door will be in the BACK of the printer.

Look through the opened back panel and look for paper. Remove any and all paper you find jammed there.

Close the back access panel. Make sure that it latches into place and looks the same way that it did before you opened it.

Find the front or top access panel. This is the panel you would lift to change ink cartridges. Open this access panel. If the carriage that holds the ink cartridges moves, then you forgot to unplug the printer, go back and do that now. Look for paper that may be jammed in this area of the printer.

Remove any paper you find jammed here. When pulling from the front there will be resistance from the paper feeder. Pull slowly or the paper will rip and create a more stressful problem.

Close the front access panel. Make sure that it falls or latches back in place. It should look the same way that it did before you opened it.

Plug the printer's power cord into the wall outlet, and attempt to print again. If the printer prints the job, then you have successfully removed the paper jam.

Kyocera mita km2530 paper misfeed jam00

This usually means that no paper has been fed from the paper cassette or the machine was turned off when you had a paper jam.
Remove the paper cassette from the machine and ensure that nothing is stopping the paper from feeding. Also look into where the machine locates in the copier to ensure that no paper is jammed behind the cassette.
The paper feed rollers may need cleaning or replacing.

Did you try unplugging the power cord and waiting a couple of minutes, then plug back in and see if the printer resets itself. Also try checking all the paths that the paper travels through the machine for any scraps of paper that may have torn off during the jam up. Sometimes a very small scrap will prevent printers from resetting themselves. Also disconnect the printer from the computer before unplugging so the printer doesn't receive any signal from the computer. It may not mean anything.

I cant fix the paper jam problem. every time i take the paper jam out it jams again

I have had paper jams in five different places on this machine. It has jammed at the pickup point from the tray, in which case you have to remove the paper tray and pull the jammed paper out. It has jammed at the manual paper feed tray, in which case you just have to pull the jammed paper out of the feed rollers. It has jammed at the toner/drum, in which case you have to open the front cover and pull the toner cartridge out to remove the jam. It has jammed in the back of the machine where the paper feeds through to the output tray, in which case you have to open the small back panel and remove the paper. And it has jammed in the output rollers, in which case you have to reach inside the output tray and remove the paper. Then once the jam is cleared there are times when the machine has to be unplugged for up to 8 hours to reset before it will function properly.

Paper jam and still won't print

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Before you can clear the error message, you must locate where in the unit the paper is jammed.

Unplug the machine for safety. Now follow these instructions based on where the paper jam is located.

1. Pull the paper tray out of the machine.
2. Pull out the jammed paper.
3. Reset the machine by opening the Upper Jam Clear Cover and then closing it.

If you cannot remove the jammed paper from the front of the machine, or the error message still appears on the LCD after you have removed the jammed paper, please go to the next step.

4. Remove the Lower Jam Clear Cover from the back of the machine. Pull the jammed paper out of the machine.

5. Put the Lower Jam Clear Cover back on. Make sure the cover is set properly.

6. Open the Upper Jam Clear Cover. Make sure that there is no jammed paper left in the corners of the machine.
Note: If the paper is jammed under the print head, unplug the machine from the power source, then move the print head to take out the paper. 7. Close the Upper Jam Clear Cover.

8. Close the output paper tray cover and slide it forward, then push the paper tray firmly back into the machine. While holding the paper tray in place, pull out the paper support until it clicks and unfold the paper support flap.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Paper Jam error will not reset after removing jammed paper

In many cases, you must use compressed air in a can, and blow out the insides of the printer. These printers use photoelectronic eye technology to tell you when there is no paper left, or other supplies are used up. But unless you clear that out by blowing air through and past those sensors, they do not reset. The paper dust continues to block the sensor which makes it report that there is no paper, that there is a paper jam, etc.
Try clearing it out that way.

LCD Error message: Paper output slot. Thye paper is jammed. clear the paper and press OK.

A jam sensor may be stuck or have something stuck on it, causing the machine to think it is jammed. These sensors are normally located where the paper feeds into the printer, and where the paper exits the printer. Try forcing a sheet of paper through the machine in the direction paper normally. feeds. This may free up the jam sensors.
