SOURCE: My touch pad for Lenovo

It most likely has something conductive around the edges. Clean the pad with a cloth or paper towel that has 99% isopropyl alcohol on it. Use something like a toothpick to push the cloth or paper right into the edges. Once it is clean, and completely dry, try again. If it still doesn't work you may need to check the connection inside the laptop.

SOURCE: the following keys have both

It sounds like your function key is either stuck or broken. Try prying the key off (carefully) with a knife or something to check if you can see the damage. You can also try cleaning it (search google for keyboard cleaning procedures). If it's broken, you may need to purchase a new one. They can be found easily on e-bay.

Hi there. I have a pb dot s2 netbook which is only a month old. When i turn it on the mouse pointe ris froze in the middle of the screen and will not move using the touchpad. Everything seems to be booting...

The problem sounds like it is either related to the touchpad drivers or it is a hardware issue. As the netbook is only a month old the best advice I can give would be to return it to your supplier for resolution under warranty.

TV turns itself off every 4 to 5 hours. Then turns itself right back on??? Settings all seem OK. This problem began about 2 months after we purchased the tv. Any thoughts???

Check SMPS feed back opto isolator. This could cause this problem if there is no other fault. Check for any dry solder joints. take service center help if you find it difficult to fix!

Touchpad not wirking

I had the same problem. There is a small touchpad on the laptop, just above the Pause button, which turns the main mouse pad on and off. It is situated on the far right hand side (there are also touch buttons for the volume controls there), between the N500 logo and where the power supply jack fits in.

Touch pad stopped working

I recommend you to uninstall and reinstall touchpad drivers to isolate the issue.
Press Windows key and R. Type devmgmt.msc in Run window and click on OK. Click on "+" sign beside Mice and other pointing devices in Device Manager.
Right click on Touchpad and select Uninstall.
You will be prompted to restart the computer.
Windows detects touchpad and the touchpad drivers will be reinstalled automatically.
You can also install touchpad drivers from your notebook support website.
You can reinstall the drivers from the below links:
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5920.html
http://www.laptops-drivers.com/acer-notebooks/download-drivers-acer-aspire-5920-notebooks.html
However I suggest you to install the drivers by visiting the acer support website.
Also perform windows update.

Some laptops have a key sequence to activate or disable the onboard touchpad.
Look for Fn+F8(or another combination) the key should have a mouse symbol on it.

Touchpad

You could clean it.
Personally I plug a USB Mouse, Cos I cannot be Bothered with a lot of wasted energy in using a touchpad. Far faster with a mouse. The other answer is Statutery rights.
