I have Toshiba 65H81 for 6 years. After browse the website, I think my TV has convergence issue because it shows several images(reb, blue & green) stack together but not aligned.
I use Touch Focus button to try to adjust convergence automatically. It turn out "Touch Focus Error". Then I try to manually adjust the convergence, but the green crossed lines is slented & can't align blue & red crossed lines to it.
So, I think the convergence IC is bad. Is it right? I just want to know normally how much it will cost to replace the convergence IC, both parts & labor. Thank you!

Re: Toshiba 65H81 convergence issue
Does the blue and red crosses move at all ... eather vertically or horizontally. if they move at all then it may not be the chips.. could be a resistor. if the crosses dont move then it probally the ic. these chips run about 7 to 45 dollars apeace depending on type. at our shop we charge around 125 to put in.

Somewhere along the line you may have missed a cable connection. Recheck to be sure that all of the wires are reconnected. Also, check the +5V line. In the area of the convergence Ics there should be a number of pico fuses. One of those may have opened up.
Keep us posted.
Give this a shot.. in the front of the tv when the access panel is off to where you can see the tubes. look off to the right and you will see a set of 6 small black knobs. The top knobs are for color the bottom knobs are BLUR.. turn those and see if they will help. ~Matt~
Could I get a copy of that manual please? Sometimes my remote works / and sometimes it doesn't. I use other remotes which are programmed for the TV, but it's the receiver eye on the TV which is intermittent. Does anyone know of a fix??
I don't think is any lamps.
If you are handy try to open the back of your tv, (unplug it first) don't touch anything just yet, you need to make sure you discharge any static left on the power board (the first from your left )Unplug power cord from the board. Take a heavy long screwdriver (Isolated) and lightly, touch a few parts on the board including the thick red wires that go to the lamps. Once that's done its time to put your dexterity at work. You need to lift that board (PD 0074) so that you can check some fuses like F850, F852, etc. for continuity. Mine were out. I had replaced those two and I had tv for another year. Remove the screws that hold the board. Now, this board PD0074 is connected to the next board by two white connectors and one blue. ....lift them up from one side with your finger nail. Don't unplug anything from the power board, just loose some wires so that you can lift the whole board on one edge. Get a voltmeter and set it to check continuity. Mine has a buzz. Look for them fuses if they are bad , ....replace them. (You can buy them at Partstore.com.....punch in "fuses"or "125V 2A")
In my case that was the only problem a year ago. Now I also have the same problem but this trick didn't work for me anymore. The Power Co,. messed me up big this time. In fact the problem with these Toshiba rear proj. is that when the power in your house goes out and comes back right a way in a split second and you don't have a power regulator, guess what : 'red led blinking'
In my case this time the whole power went on and off a few times within 10 sec. and by the time I got to the TV to unplug, it was to late. I think I have to replace the whole PD0074 board....and that's expensive.
DA, convergence circuit has failed, the IC`s and possibly a couple of support resistors need to be replaced, your right about it being a good set, 6 years is about average for convergence IC`s, call your local shops for a few estimates and get it fixed, it will run for a lot longer than 6 years, hope this is the advice your looking for, e-mail me if you have more questions, BMW Rider
