           Ok, it appears that your hard drive in your PS3 is corrupt and needs to be reformatted. You can get an external hard drive enclosure and do it yourself. You would have to take the hard drive out of your PS3 and put it in the external hard drive enclosure and plug that into a computer with the supplied USB cable and format it. From what I'm reading out there, the external hard drive enclosure has to be for SATA 2.5" hard drive.             You could probably replace the hard drive with a larger one just as easy if you wanted to.
