I have a Dell Ultrasharp 1907FPV, it's a few years old. Whenever I start my computer, the moniter stays dark and the green power button does these quick flickers. Eash flicker cycle takes less then a second, I think with the light only flashing for an instant cach cycle. It's currently taking about 10 minutes before it goes full green and the screen boots up. I already tried switching it with another computer and monitor, The other monitor worked on my computer and my bad monitor did the same thing on the other computer, so I assume that the monitor is the problem. Do I have a short circuit? I read that is a problem for the Dell1907 series when I was looking through this site. Should I be taking this in for repairs? Would they be expensive? There is nothing wrong with the screen itself when it is on, I'd hate to replace it.

You don't have a short-circuit. That would have blown the protections or even the monitor. Refer to the manual, that flashing light may be a code that tells you the problem. I don't think the repair would be expensive...

My Dell Ultrasharp 2707 Monitor is flickering (badly).

Sounds like a bad monitor, (something inside may have went bad or pulled loose, or maybe bad monitor cable). Contact Dell and have them ship you a replacement under warranty. When your eceive the replacement, you will have a return label. place your old monitor in the package with the return lable, and contact Fed Ex (Dell uses fedex) and schedule a pick up at your convenience.

Yellow line

It sounds like a hardware problem ,if it still has warranty then you should return it.
It could also be a faulty vga card the only way to test would be to connect monitor to another computer.

Good Luck

Dell moniter

The power supply has most likely gone out. Check for 12v and 5v output and also the solder arround d903 and d907. The site www.lcdrepair.us sells the part as well as a repair kit and has instructions.

Dell 1900fp 19" moniter Ultrasharp

Button on the bottom back base raises and lowers, if not low enough then you can remove the base. removal button is back and center of monitor.
of course you will have to deal with a way to mount it then.

Moniter troubleshooting

Check the memory - I'm willing to bet it's the memory and not the monitor.  Make sure the memory is compatiable with the memory that's already in there.
