Infinity basslink is messed-up

I installed the basslink in my daughter's SUV and it worked fine for a long time, then I changed her SUV battery and when I attached the battery terminal, there was some sparking before I got the terminal attached firmly on the battery. After that, the basslink has been screwed. With the auto speaker wires attached to the basslink, NO SOUND comes out of the car speakers (or the basslink). When I detach the Auto speaker wires from the basslink, the auto stereo work fine - but, of course, no sound out of the basslink.

Thanks. Do you mean the in-line fuse from the battery, or do I have to take the Basslink unit apart to find the fuse?
    Thanks,
    Larry

The fuse for the amp is right on the outside right side of the amp where the wires go in/out. it might be yellow or orange. it is just like a little car fuse you can pull out with your finger. possibly 20amp fuse.

make sure to repalce it with same amp fuse. also, you can look at the middle of the fuse and see if it has blown.

sometimes there is an in-line fuse located on the positive cable that power the amp. that could be anywhere from the amp back to the battery terminal. most likely close to the battery.

You may have blown the fuse in the AMP. Check it and let me know.

Infinity Basslink. I wired and connected everything and sounded amazing. I removed my center console to construct a box to put the Basslink in. When I was putting the Basslink sub into the box (tight fit)...

I would get a test light and see if the remote line is still working. Otherwise, yes you probably fried it. Doesn't take much in car audio to fry an amp.

My cars battery died, and when i turned the car on finally the head unit and my infinity bass link didnt turn on

Check the fuse in your car's fuse panel. If it is burnt then change. If it is still good, check the fuse on the head unit and amp.

2nd Basslink, still no power-on. Please help

this is in response to the post below:

I just bot a basslink t and i wired it up and nothing it just keeps blowing the fues in the unit i got mine on ebay2.gif so i dont know if i can use the warranty dose anybody have an ida for me- britter623

I got a used basslink about a month ago and had the exact same prob kept blowing fuses...found out that the voice coil had blown on the infinity...so I had a brand new dvc polk 10 sittin in the closet, I swapped them out, put the polk in the place of the infinity sub, however, the magnet is much larger, hence, dual voice coil, it would rattle sooo much from the passive radiator against the magnet, also could not turn the gain up at all due to the rattle. I got the bright idea to build a "custom fiberglas enclosure for the polk and incorporate the infinity's parts(amp/control) I finished the box finally last night and hooked it up this morning, no power, no lights, no nothing! s@#%, F&@%! ANyone had a prob w/the amp not having the lights turn on, no power??? Hope that helps about your fuse blowing issue.

Basslink keeps cutting off into protection!!

From what i have heard, If you have a speaker level input connection. this sympton does occur. You buy a scosche LOC and try giving the input to Basslink, it should work fine

Infinity Basslink killing battery

Both issues sound like they are related to a non-connected or loosely connected remote wire on the Basslink.

If you're using RCA preamp wires to connect your stereo to the Basslink, make sure the remote wire input on the Basslink is solidly connected to the stereo's remote output.

If you're using the speaker level inputs on the Basslink and not the RCA preamps, make sure the remote input is not connected, as the Basslink will automatically turn on when it senses the speaker level inputs are active.

Basslink drops out.

The auto on switch should only be in the on position when the REM wire is NOT connected. Auto on can be flaky. Basslinks respond better to RCA inputs then the high level ones. You might try getting an RCA line converter, they work very well with the Basslink.

Amp keeps blowing fuse

I have this same problem. You have blown the internal amp. I have had 2 of these do the same thing. There is nothing you can do but report it to infinity and try to get the unit replaced.
