Hi ppl, just found this site so here goes,I have an old 1925, I was messin around with it and it went awol,It was running just fine before my stupidity,I had taken off the docking unit that holds the dvd and floppy units when I rejoined the unit to the main body of the laptop it died,no lights nothing,I had stupidly not switched off the power from the AC Adapter when I did this, now when I put the battery in and try to power up, nothing,if I press the power on button I do get every twenty seconds or so,a little flash in the power on led.have I fried the motherboard or is this a fault on the AC. power supply, thanks for looking, MAC.<(:-)
Try this, with laptop removed from docking unit:
1. Press and hold the laptop power button down, for 10 seconds.
2. Now remove the battery
3. Repeat step one above
4. Let the laptop sit for 10 minutes.
5. Reinstall the battery
6. Make sure docking station is unplugged, and insert laptop into docking station.
7. Plug in power supply (to dock)
8. Start the laptop.
9. IF IT STARTS, let it run a while to see if the battery is charging
10. Remove it from the dock and repeat steps 1-5 above and then go directly to 8 (start without connecting dock).
CONCLUSIONS: If the laptop started in the dock on step 9 but not 10 (only on battery), your battery or power regulator circuit may be damaged. However, if it starts in step 10 but not step 9, your docking station -or its AC power supply may be damaged Let me know how this comes out, please.
