Ensure the power cord is inserted securely in the television's power socket, if you are powering from the remote please ensure that the batteries in the remote control are properly charged.
Check if the source cables are properly connected. Refer to “Getting Started” section of your television user manual for how to connect a device to your television.

rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.
When you turn on the TV and adjust the volume does the onscreen volume bar / information pop up? Does anything ever appear on the screen other than blue?
Thanks
Tim
It definitely shouldn't need a retuning.... something has gone wrong with the actual receiver portion of the TV...
It may actually be a tube problem as well, but since you do get the aerial logo picture I am thinking that is less likely.
You are going to need to get in touch with either a TV repair shop or Hannspree to get this unit fixed up. I would call Hannspree first and see if it can be done under warranty.
Check them out here, it has all of their contact information:

Please if possible come back to the question here and rate it 4 thumbs. It looks like the answer helped you, but for some reason it doesn't rate it 4 thumbs unless you come back a second time and specify 4 out of 4 thumbs. I hope you will do this for me. Thanks Tim

The model is Hannspreee Xv-S flatscreen. There is still no picture at all. It was working fine before. I have checked all the connections. Might it require re-tuning and, if so, how?
The only thing that shows on the screen is the picture of an aerial fitting in the right hand bottom corner for a brief moment. I have a booster and have checked the fittings to it.
