Bissell pro 2 brushes dont turn, belts are fine , shaft turns fine. how do i check the motor that turns these parts

You should be able to hear the motor running when it is switched on. If it doesn't make a noise then it isn't running and needs checking. If it does run be aware the drive belts can appear ok but sometimes considerably lose elasticity. so they won't drive. A new belt is often half the length and must be stretched to fit.

If the motor doesn't run and it is a corded vacuum it must be checked through with care. An internal break in the power cord is the most common cause of trouble with a faulty switch number two on my list and a faulty thermal breaker also in the top ten.

In the case of a cordless, first check the charger...

The beater brush will no longer drive under a load on short pile carpet

Have you tried changing the height adjustment? There should be a knob or lever that allows you to adjust the height of the beater brush to accommodate different carpet lengths. Even with a new belt, the brush will not spin if the height is too low. Try adjusting it all the way up, then while it is running, adjust it down until there is some resistance. The beater brush should just barely scrape the top of your carpet.

Panasonic ecomax carpet bar won't drive

The first thing to check is make sure the belt is not broken or stretched. It is possible that a vacuum cleaner may need a new belt even if you just bought it. It may have been a year or more since it was assembled and had the belt installed. It may have spent some time in a warehouse and on the store shelf before making it to your home so the first thing to check is always the belt. If it has a stretch belt they must be stretched to almost twice their original length when installed on your vacuum and they lose elasticity. The rule of thumb in the vacuum industry is belts should be changed every three months for proper agitation. If the belt is not broken or stretched check to see if there may be something stuck in there preventing the brush roll from spinning freely.

U6485-900 WindTunnel Self-Propelled I changed the belts but there is not enough tension on the brush drive belt to get it to rotate

I had the exact same problem with my Hoover U6485-900 Anniversary upright, self propelled, vacuum. It would move backwards and forwards, had good vacuum, but wouldn't pick up much because the brush/roller was not turning very well. I replaced the main drive belt (38528035) and it now works great. The old belt had stretched and was slipping under load. Thanks for the great suggestions.

How can i make my roll brush move on my eureka vacumn AS1101 A the belt is not broke so why wouldnt it work

My issue is that the belt circled spins independently of the main drive belt. Main drive belt will spin fine but 2nd belt does not engage or soon if there is any resistance...like the ground.
What are you suggestions from here?

Brushes will not turn, belts are hooked up

There is a main motor to gear drive belt and a smaller cogged belt to drive the brush/beater bar. There is no reset switch, but make certain the motor is turning the belt and not broken, By using flat head screwdriver, pop the side plastic piece up and off the base unit and visually see what is happening when the power switch (not heater ) is turned on. You say the belts are hooked up?? Meaning that they are tangled?

The main brush will not spin

I would guess the belt is broken. That happens often. Get a correct belt. Remove the brush roller. Wrap the belt around the roller and drive peg. Reasemble -- easier said than done, but keep trying.

Broken transmission belt

Hi There, Is it the main drive belts from the motor to the tech drive? If it is the are very easy to replace by taking out the tech drive. If it's a belt inside the tech drive unit you will not be able to buy the belts anyway as they are classed from kirby as a sealed unit. Hope this helps Chris www.elidistribution.co.uk
