Samsung LNS4051D. Originally had red blotches replacing dark/Black areas. Now colors have gone totally bonkers with every color, every where randomly even with the color control on the way down. I noticed others having the same problems on the webb. Samsung says the problem has never been reported. HELP!

a picture would be great, what you are describing would be a number of things. Being that it's a Samsung, I would suspect a failing LCD panel, very common with older Samsung's and Sony's. Other possibilities are a bad main board or a damaged LCD screen. I guess I should ask if the problem is always there or does it go away when the set warms up? Listen, for what it is going to cost you to fix the unit, you are better off replacing it and having a new warranty to boot. Simply not cost effective to repair given the cost of a new monitor these days.
If you have had this unit for awhile it could just be the lamp. If the image does'nt brighten up you may have an issue with the light path. The color wheel produces the color. If there was an issue with the color wheel you would most likely have a black and white image.
Its probably the inverter. its a device that powers lcd screen's. ebay the model # and include inverter. it will give you a ballpark number to work with
