Hi, I have a 13 year old Hitachi 26" tv. Recently when I put the sleep timer on and the tv turns off the screen stays glowing. I know that it can normally glow for up to a minute and then fade to black, but this is not fading to black. The only way I have seemed to be able to turn it completely off is by turning it off and on on the tv button itself. And even on some of those tries the corners or the centre will stay glowing.
I am wondering what this problem may be? Could it be a safety concern, such as a fire hazard?
Thank you.

Do you have a cable box which turns on and off with the tv? If so is your cable box input on the video 4 mode? If that is the case look under the video menu for advanced selections, you will see a selection for auto/on/off for video 4, select off. Check manul under video and it will explain also.
