Restart computer with device pluggedin. That should help for Windows to recognize it.

Some songs downloaded on omnitech mp3 player won't play

Some of the Mp3 players require a particular directory structure.
If required, this directory structure is created automatically when you format the card in the player itself.
Make sure you take a backup before formatting the card as it will delete all data on the card.

After formatting, you may see few folders (unhide hidden files as well)
You need to transfer in one of these.
Also let me know how exactly transfer the songs if this does not resolve. If possible, also try giving few details.

I just need help downloading songs.

Plug in into a USB port on your computer.

On your computer, click START / MY COMPUTER and you should see, along with your other hard drives, your mp3 player listed.

You can now now cut or copy and Paste or drag & drop your mp3s onto the player.

If your mp3 player doesn't display on MY COMPUTER, wait 30 seconds & press F5 to refresh.

Downloading music

Oh.. If I know that mp3 player, it's a USB2 type (Where you plug it directly into your computers open USB slot).

I could list alot of sites where you can buy songs, but if you have some on your computer, It's just a drag-and-drop situation.

Running Windows XP? Drivers should automatically enable it to run from your system. Try doing the following.

Open "My Computer" after plugging the player in. If you see it, you can just grab a song from your collection and drop it straight into the player.

Also Media player might be able to sync your music, but I prefer this method... Less of a hassle.

RIO ce2100

Try this and let me know if it works: Plug the player into the computer (by the USB cable obviously), open your Rio Music Manager, go to "Tools", "Synchronization options". Then create a "synchronization profile" as instructed. As you progress through the instructions, your second preferrence to edit is called "content deletion". This is where you can tell your player to NEVER delete your music. (Choose "never" from the dropdown menu). Then follow the rest of the steps, answering the other questions as you prefer. Hopefully this will prevent your player from losing songs you've already downloaded.
