Try different games and see if the psp will play any of them. If it doesn't then take a can of air and gently blow some air into the slot where the games go. This will remove any dust or dirt that might be on the laser.

If the psp is playing some games but not others then the laser is going weak.

Either way if the PSP is not playing games or only recognizes some, then the laser needs to be replaced.

- disk is damaged
- UMD drive isn't working

Try other UMDs to see if they work or not. If not, that means the UMD drive isn't working!

When i try to run a disk it says the disk is not formatted do i want to format it now. the disk has information on it so it has to be formatted .

It is possible that there are errors on the floppy disk or the disk was formated using a format that is incompatible with the current operating system. If the disk is readable on another system, the best solution would be to copy the files onto a portable USB flash drive, then reformat the floppy disk using a filesystem that is readable on the desired computer.

I cannot actvate delta force2

Perform a compatibility check of the Disk DVD whether the computer is capable of reading the media type. Usually, disks movies are readable on DVD players, computer game Disks on computer drivers, and game in Disks on game consoles. Observe the disk to acquire the detail requirements of what type of decoder device is capable of display.

Disk is not readable by the computer.

Try a different "data" cable between your computer and the external disk-drive.

Try connecting the unit to a different computer.
If it fails there, then the unit itself has a problem:
Either:
* the USB-to-disk-drive adapter (inside the casing) has failed;
* the disk-drive (inside the casing) has failed.

Disassemble the external unit, and remove the disk-drive. Connect it as a "slave" disk-drive in some Apple Computer, to see if the data on the disk-drive can still be accessed.

Check with LACIE, to see if their "warranty" is still valid, or if it has expired.

Windows

You need to download the SATA driver for your hard drive to a readable disk and reinstall xp and when the xp installation ask if you need to install 3rd party driver tap F6 and load the driver from the readable disk you put the drivers on,(This cannot be done on the same drive that contains the xp install disk since removing the disk would stop the installation)I recommend a usb drive,But you will need to enable boot from usb device in the bios first.Or if you have a floppy drive That would work too.
