I'm having roblems with my Thermador SC302T. The upper oven works fine. The lower oven won't bake or broil, but the control panel operates(which has been replaced). I am technically capable of troubleshooting if someone could help with a sequence.
Thanks,
Jeremy
Make sure you hit the reset switch first... on top of the lower over... behind the panel...they trip easy and "kill" the oven.
I just pulled the black panel - 2 screws on each side of the oven latch - snaps on the side....in the center,,,on the right is a cylindrical switch - with a small redish button on top....push down on the button and hold for a couple seconds....then when I turned it on it fired right up.
Its a temp limit switch...if it opens...it stays open...and will not let power go to the elements...from the control board.
Of course, the bottom over didn't work on Xmas day-- when we needed it most. But, your solution , which took about 15 minutes total, worked perfectly.
While I'm not going to join Fixya, I did want to give you a very appreciative "Thanks"
You made my day ! You must have been a hero ! and the food tasted even better.... great news!

From my experience, Thermador ovens have board problems. Most likely the control board has become defective.
To the best of my knowledge, the boards are located in such a way that it is virtually impossible to meter the electronics. Most technicians just change out the board.
I completely understand your thoughts. I'm the same way. I don't like changing out a board w/o knowing what was wrong with it. But, in today's world with more and more dense circuitry, more circuits are located on one FRU(field replaceable unit). I'm still pretty much old school when it comes to electronics. I'd rather change a component than a board. But, what I've found is that unless you have access to the electronics supply market, many times you won't be able to (1) identify the make and model of the component and (2) find the exact replacement from a supplier. You also have to consider labor costs. Even your own personal time isn't free. Takes a lot of adapting to a throw away world. Unless something is under warranty, detailed diagnosis and repair can be expensive and at times more costly than buying new. Laptops, DVD players are perfect examples.

OI have the same problem and I replaced the borad a couple of years ago. I think you can probably pull the board, change the upper/lower oven connections and see if the lower one comes on. I'll try it over the wekend and post something here is I get anywhere.

Thanks, but is there a way to test it before I replace it?
Thank You
