Both screens for 65" hitachi projection tv

I had just bought a used hitachi 65" tv and had loaded it on the back of my truck and was proceeding on interstate 81 north when all of a sudden the screens blew out??? I had the tv covered with a drop cloth but apparently it needed more. The air around the tv must have some how made them crack. So I guess I need to check on the price of the screens....Nothing hit the tv. You can E-mail me at [email protected]

Since you don't say the model number, go to partstore.com and order them by model # and "screen"

65 S 500 HITACHI

I would suggest contacting the local Tv repair shops in your area to see if one is available used, as many shops save the screen assembly when they disassemble a set that isnt worth repairing. It may be available through Hitachi, but doubtful. I have sources for screen assemblies but unfortunately not the 65 in screens.

Hitachi 65inch Projection TV

Oh so it is a used TV set. You may have the leaking CRT coolant dripping onto the printed circuit boards and shorting them out. Have you tried the video inputs yet? If those are bad as well, the DM-1 board could be bad. There really is no definite thing that could cause this I'm afraid. Have the set checked out be a trained tech. Good Luck
