Decided to upgrade my software on my roadmate 1440 to ver 2.05 Rel 3. Process appeard to work fine except during the transfer to the roadmate my pc threw a delayed write error message. when this happened the roadmate indicated that the upgrade had finished and a reboot was needed. I powered down and back up to reboot and am now stuck with an IBOOT box that states I need to remove the SD card and reboot. Cant seem to get by this.

This is one of the perils of updating a magellan.

it sounds like the update has not taken. i suggest (if you havent already) you try the update again and if that fails, call magellan for a free replacement or repair.

Magellan will repair or replace any of their gps units rendered inoperable do to one of there updates regardless of the warranty (i assume you got this update off there site, because they will ask)

Just tried to update firmware/software on Magellan Roadmate 1440. Now computer does not recognize the gps as a device when it is plugged in. The gps screen is frozen at startup. What to try?

Magellan Roadmate 1470 screen froze at spinning clock

Same thing happened to me. It was working fine yesterday, until I arrived at my destination, then it froze and when I restart it, it stops at the spinning clock. I'm so mad at myself for not researching the update and finding out that this is happening a lot!!
I don't think I have my receipt. It will be interesting to see if Magellan charges me for THEIR mistake!

Is the 2006 download software compatible to use with windows XP

hello,
i just upgraded mine this night, and even if it says that, the uprade works fine with no risk, but after for accessing the roadmate, you will need the original software to acces to the inside !
in my case, the cd is not readable anymore, so even upgraded i can't make backups or mount new maps :-(
if somebody could make an image of the cdrom and send to me or post a link for it it would be really great !

Magellan Roadmate 700 firmware 3.32 upgrade

i use to own a 700, i advise you to get the new magellan mastreo 4000 or higher,i did my research and the magellan700 roadmate is no longer being serviced.that is what the magellan website has had showed and someone on here also has said it.i own now a mastreo 4000 so far so good no problems.
