READ ERROR When I look back at the photos I have taken with the Finepix A360 there are a few that say "READ ERROR" and do not display the photo. Now when I connect the camera to the computer, only 1 of the 280 photos will open up, the rest of them do not display. The memory card is xD M 256 MB. What can I do to retreive my photos!?

Have you tried the XD card in a reader rather than using the camera to connect to your computer?

I would try another card with the camera to see if there is a fault in your camera or the USB cable. If the other card works fine, then there nay be some compatibility issues with the M type XD card in your camera. Just for reference: I have several older FujiFilm digital cameras that I still will not use the newer style cards with. Newer meaning the 'M' and 'H' series cards. Fuji says they will work fine, but I'm always leery of newer techno gear being 100% compatible with older stuff.

No display, but photo can be taken

If you have your LCD turned on and it only 'flicks one time for millisecond, after that no display'...your LCD is dying and not worth the repair.

If having trouble downloading the photos to via USB (from the camera to a PC)

1) Camera to be on viewing mode
2) Clock the Menu/ok button to display the menu
3) Find the blue screen titled OPTION
4) Select the "Set-up" by clicking the Menu/Ok button
5) Select option #4
6) Select "USB MODE" and click the "Menu/Ok" button
7) Choose the icon that looks like a square with a curved bottom
8) Click the "Menu/Ok" button

How do I get the date to imprint on my photos?

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

When i view my photos on my camera they come up with 'read error'

Sounds like the card is failing - try recovering the images with a free software package - Google will find you lots - then Format or discard the card. Format in the camera - NEVER format using a computer

I have a Fujifilm finepix camera and my fujifilm XD card has a read error and won't show my pictures on the camera or in a card reader. Are there any free recovery programs out there?

Sometimes memory card error happens without any notice. But luckily most of the time we are able to fix the memory card error and get back files on the memory card. Take a look at this guide:
Fix memory card error and recover data
good luck!
